Smugness aside, if it is found that games at the downtown arena sell out and make a considerable amount of money I think you're wrong. Banners are fun and all but money talks. I am reading about a near sell out with some pretty stiff ticket prices. If you are selling around 4000 more tickets and the prices are stiffer then your accountant is going to say screw the banners.

I agree, money will talk, but don't confuse the novelty of one game vs the grind of a season.

$26-$102 tickets aren't going to fly for 16-19 home games a year.

I think there is a POSSIBILITY that a mini tournament or perhaps 2-3 games MAX per year could happen in a perfect storm.

For instance, I could see a four team tournament or maybe just a 2 game series with 4 teams including WSU and either KU or KSU and 2 other high profile teams. I could also see 1 high profile non-conference game and even 1 really big Valley game (by far the most unlikely scenario) being scheduled at IBA.

There is no way, imho, that the "accounting" would be even close to consider moving...if for no other reason than Wichita just doesn't have the number of alcoholics that Omaha does. j/k

This is a novelty game. Old rivalry opponent as the first game in a new arena. I would not expect similar results unless a real big-time opponent were coming to town or the WSU bandwagon grew to the point of 500-1000 on the season-ticket waiting list.

Yes, money does talk and WSU is not going to urinate on Charles Koch's wallet.

Are you saying Bluejay fans are willing to spend more than Shocker fans? Don't sell yourself short. No cut intended on the Koch, but the Shocker fans are going to like the feel of plush seating with a Bud Light in their hand. If you couple that with a large profit the Koch could be the new volleyball headquarters.

So are you willing to put forth a date on which WSU will follow the Creighton velcro-signage model and move to IBA as their primary home court?
