I've been a big fan of Lloyd ever since he got to ISU. He just seems like a touch-nosed guy who gets everything out of the talent he has.

Good list other than Evelyn for Valpo doesn't strike me as a glue guy. I have been disappointed in his play this year.

Well I guess I was basing off what I seen from him before...yeah I feel you on him not being as he should at this point

Jake Odum for Indiana State, Harry Marshall might be another name for the Sycamores as well, maybe Dwayne Lathan too.

If you're an Illinois State fan then Jay Tunnell from Indiana State would fall under this category

Matt Chastain has been the energy for this team.(Sorry, Loyola fans). Since he got healthy, and put in the starting the defense has played a lot better and the energy has increased as well. Chastain is always making the hustle plays and his demeanor rarely changes. He takes a lot of charges (real ones, not the ones like Baker took), he chases down 50/50 balls, and just does everything well, though the stat sheet might not say it. I saw this tweet the other day and was curious who you thought fit the description throughout your years following The Valley.

"Matt Chastain is your favorite player if you're a Redbird fan and an annoying pest if you're an opposing fan. He plays so hard and makes the right plays. He's the definition of a glue guy."

Who else in the MVC has had this reputation in the past? I'm trying to think of those guys who seemed to be the the league forever but weren't necessarily "scorers."

Early suggestions: Lucas O'Rear (UNI), Mike Vandegarde (ILST), Mark Golden (INST), and Tekele Cotton (WSU).

Who else do you think?

Indiana State has never had a player named Mark Golden.

The ultimate Glue guy was Evan Wessel. Never flashy but always got the key rebound or loose ball.

:+1:

This was brought up over on the ILST board. An annoying pest only loved by his teams fans.

I don't know how people feel about Chastain, but it is only his first season. He'll be VERY annoying to teams by his senior year.

Love the man-bunned player...hate the man-bun. I read that in the bible.

 Someone on ILST's board said, "The way Chastain plays makes the man-bun tolerable." A few weeks ago, Chas said he hasn't cut his hair since December 2016.

Past: Nathan BIlyeu , MSU

Known in Springfield as lunch-pail Nate. Good kid, tough player.
