I generally agree with you, from a 3-10 seeding perspective. The 1 and 2 seeds get to play a team that played a tough team the night before. Usually, the Thursday team plays tough for the first half or a little more and then fatigue sets in. I do think this is the year a Thursday team makes it to Saturday because someone is going be the low man on the totem pole in regards to the tie-breakers and end up playing Thursday night as the 7 seed.
For which team I trust to make a run Loyola is still the team in my eyes. Despite getting owned by the Birds for 35 minutes (the score does not paint good picture of the game), Loyola will grow back together IF they get Williamson back. I don't trust ILST to win it all, but I trust they will make it to Sunday. I mean, look at the statistics. They have played on Sunday 6 of the last 10, right?
Two sleepers: Dana Ford's Bears. Though inconsistent, they have some very good wins. The other team: UNI. AJ Green is legit and Ben Jacobsen remains one of my favorite coaches in the MVC. All of their MVC losses have been by single digits including at 1 point loss at Illinois State, and a 1 point loss at Loyola. They also have one of the biggest point spread road wins of the MVC (despite it being against BU), a dominate win on the road is always impressive regardless who a team plays.
