I always support my coaches and players at SIU! I have never and will never boo anyone that represents SIU! Thank you Barry! He gave his best effort and it was clear that he didn't want to step down but knew there was no choice! I'll always love and support Coach Hinson!

It divides the fan base because Barry is kind of polarizing. Some fans love his folksy personality others hate it. Some fans find Barry so personable they are willing to accept the mediocrity that comes from his coaching while other fans loathe it and just want to win.

It happened almost identically for the very same reasons at both MSU and SIU.

I wish Barry the best because he IS a good guy who gave his best, ran clean programs, and cared about his players at both schools. That said it was the right decision for both schools to move on when they did.

Certainly understand parting ways after 7 years with no postseason, but sounds like it was an ugly end. Too bad. He didn't deserve that.

You guys are falling for the Hinson act now. He was leaving this year if he won or lost. He is going in to politics. I am sure he felt bad about not making the NCAA tournament. He felt sorry for himself though. His players graduate nonpolice blotter all good stuff. Terrible coach outside of that. I wish him luck but I am glad he is gone.

Barry Hinson is not a good man. He got an AD fired simply for doing his job, he ruined his life. Anyone see what former player Marcus Fillyaw had to say about him? Talked to someone who knows Fletchers family and they do not like the man either. Lavender left because Hinson was awful to him. He cut players. Glotta, Pendleton etc... and took their scholarships out from under them. He is NOT a good man and has 0 of my respect. He deserved to be boo'ed louder IMO. Good riddance. You all can fall for his BS act all you want but I am no chump.
