I'm not sure I'm sold on Mullins as the solution for SIU--seems a little Muller-ish. Aren't there any young Horizon or OVC head coaches (or coaches from similar leagues) out there who would love that gig? Seems like that's been a good recipe for the Valley.

Weber has the title of head coach. However, lets be honest here. K State probably finishes 5th or 6th in the Big 12 this year without Lowery on the bench. He is the mastermind to their success and SIU would be very wise to try and lure him back. If they don't, I expect a power 5 conference team takes him out of the Little Apple sometime in the next couple of years.

That would be a pretty bold hire, and would probably result in a loss of employment for the AD unless Lowery has miraculously become a good coach.

I'm not sure SIU has the money to get a candidate of Lowery's stature. "Unbelievably wildly successful", the article says.

It's an article from 2007. I can't seem to find anything more recent. Weird.

Lowery saved Weber's career. Nice to hear from someone of your pedigree. You should have a beer with BEARZ77 at Arch Madness. Nice man, but needs some schooling on coaching hoops.

2.This is a terrible idea that will solve nothing. Let's replace our failed coach with the guy he replaced who was also fired for poor performance. A brilliant recipe for success there.

Young lad, Lowery is the straw that stirs the drink in Manhattan. The Wildcats' adoption of Lowery's Floorburn U mentality has soared them to the Elite 8 and breaking college basketball's greatest conference dynasty. The return of Chris, without Dillard to poison the well or Moccia and Rita Cheng's senseless decisions, will restore the Salukis to former glory.

Jerry Kill knows this. He witnessed it firsthand. And the national media is right on top of it.

As much as I'm sure Coach Kill wants Lowery back, I'm not sure we can afford it. To be Gonzaga, you have to pay Gonzaga money.
