Eh, access to the team is a privilege not a right. Even for newspapers. And this happens at the highest levels. Cubs color guy Steve Stone was constantly getting into it with Cubs players and brass because of perceived negativity and long story short he's now with the White Sox.

Oh, and can we stop glorifying Peoria sports journalism like Reynolds and Eminian are freakin Woodward and Bernstein over there? I do appreciate that Dave doesn't just write puff pieces all the time like Jim Benson of the Panty, who was originally critical of Muller's handling of Yarbrough but stopped all criticism abruptly and dutifully cheered as that cancer metasticized into a Thursday night bid. But Bradley and Peoria with its economic struggles frankly could use more puff and less dour in a bid to chase Pulitzers.

Basketball is supposed to be a fun escape. I have been waiting for years for Bradley to be decent again. Then they pull this crap. I have been immpressed with Chris Reynolds to this point. But if they cant understand the role of media, then they must not be too bright. Not going to the selection party

For the first time I am considering the fire Wardle movement as a real possibilty. He better make the tournament next year.

You really don't know what you have in Peoria. Reynolds is a three-time winner of the Illinois Sportswriter of the Year award and has been covering Bradley basketball through the good and the (mostly) bad for three decades. Him and Eminian may as well be the Woodward and Bernstein of Peoria. Not every Valley school has the consistent coverage that Bradley enjoys with the PJStar.

The problem is Bradley can't handle having an independent media source. They want to control the entire message. And when something is written in a way that slightly comes across as negative, they throw a hissy fit and start limiting access. If you're cool with getting all your news straight from the school, then enjoy your one-sided puff pieces.

The press is not meant to be Bradley's PR Department. This is blowing up on Twitter. At the very least, Bradley should issue an apology of some sort.

It's really gotten out of hand. None of it good for Bradley.

Bradley trending on twitter and being used as a punchline by the likes of Keith Olbermann.

Now Charley Steiner - the namesake of Bradley’s journalism school - ripping BU.

This will likely be the topic of discussion during Bradley's NCAA game. It's already all over the national sports writers with it being a nearly unanimous negative response. Definitely a bad look and timing for Bradley. It's going to take the spotlight off of the players which is where there should be focusing.
