But if we actually merged the OVC and MVC into a single conference to create a Valley Conference that had an Ohio and a Missouri division, and had them mostly play within their division but with some crossover/interdivisional games... the OVC would get wrecked and these standings would look very, very different.

I can’t disagree with your overall MVC rankings and I like the idea of UNI dancing. Finishing middle of MVC and then winning at the Arch sounds believable.

The OVC is Murray, Belmont and a whole lotta crap. I'd be all for adding the top 2 but the MVC shouldn't associate itself with the OVC any more than it does. And yes I know they got 2 bids last year.

I'm pretty sure I said "at least half have some sort of rivalry", rather than "most".

Indiana State and Illinois State both have rivalries with Eastern Illinois. In football I believe the Redbirds and Panthers have a traveling trophy in the Mid-America Classic.

Southern Illinois and Missouri State both share rivalries with SE Missouri State.

Evansville was a founding member of the OVC and plays Murray State, who was also a founding member, often in basketball. Maybe not an official rivalry, but there is a lot of history between those two programs.

I can’t speak for SIU but I can assure you that SEMO is not considered a rival by anyone at Missouri State. I’m not saying that to disrespect them in anyway but most fans do not see that as a rivalry.
