Not necessarily. UE fans are riled up for a good season. Might brigade ISUr in the next round to keep the Aces out of a projected Thursday finish.

It's one Redbirds alum and one Salukis alum. No bias there; they're high on the Aces because they're paying attention!

I like Williams, seen some tape of him; but every team adds talent every year. Williams wasn't rated higher than any number of newcomers in the Valley, so to think that makes a bad team good, needs to be proven before people automatically adjust their thinking. I think UE has a chance based on Williams, Cunliffe , and a couple others; but those names by themselves don't make it so. I don't hold UE to any standard I don't hold other Valley teams to including my Bears. You get respect when you prove it on the court, not by talking about it in preseason. That's why I don't see the Bears as preseason #1, and why teams like UE will have to show they can win on the road and have the depth necessary to sustain things in an 18 game conference schedule. When teams do those things they become legit, but not until. I wish UE well; I like all the Valley teams to raise their levels and make for a tough conference. Things look like they're heading that way, but then we all usually think so in Oct.

Thanks, it's just how I view things. That's why I tend to see Loyola as the favorite, and think both Drake and Illinois State are possibly better than others do, because I've seen them prove it recently. That doesn't negate the fact a team like the Bears or UE can't do something special this year, in fact I'll be disappointed if the Bears aren't battling for the title. But until they do, I guess I'm a Missourian thru and thru, you have to show me.

Not real sure why people think Evansville will be better than ISUB. They return far less and have just as many ? marks in the front court. I tend to lean towards ISUB being better than ISUR as well.

Now it gets crazy. One game could be the difference between 8th, and 2nd. The only thing I know for sure is that the Aces will not be a Thursday team. Defense could be a possible problem, but the USI game should answer some of the questions.
