We have a "That escalated quickly" situation on our hands.

FWIW here is the seating chart for 2013.

As you can see, Wichita and Creighton (top 2 seeds) have seats on the sidelines where they would be seen on Championship Sunday on TV. They just have such a high percentage of fans that they also wrap all the way around behind the basket.

Here is 2014, Indiana State and Wichita (top two seeds) same situation

Here is 2016....top two seeds Evansville and Wichita in the same place.

Here is 2012....Creighton and Wichita

Always seemed to me that their goal was fairness first, getting the most people on TV on the championship game second. Each team gets access to the same number of seats in the middle, and then it flares out from there. If your team has more tickets sold, you end up flaring out more. If you're a top two seed, you'll be on the side the cameras will be pointing on Sunday.

And I am pretty sure schools allocate seats within their section, not the MVC.

That's the way it works with Missouri State. (I think they are called Bear Points, correct me if I'm wrong.) They give ticket preference to those who have season tickets. The longer you've been a season ticket holder, and the more you pay for your seats, the more points you get. I have no clout, so if I get all session passes from Missouri State, they may put me in the upper bowl behind the curtain. I have some friends that have been season ticket holders for well over 20 years, and they get right behind the bench.

The sections directly behind the bench change for every game. That section goes up to about where the exits are. Those sections are usually for parents, school officials, and who ever the school playing at that time invites. You see tables in the hall before each game for the schools playing and that is where the tickets to those sections come from.

The middle sections on the side are usually sponsors. Those sections seem sparsely filled and fans filter in each game. It seems to me the school allocated tickets alternate each year from closer to the court to higher up each year.

We always stay for all the games in the sessions. I think we are in the minority. It seemed Wichita, and Creighton fans tended to stay, maybe the larger groups were more noticeable staying to watch all games.
If we leave early we usually give our tickets to remaining fans.

I am beginning to think they could have large sections of open seating with out any hassle.

Anybody seen a chart yet?

It's obviously been decided because we can pick up tickets starting tonight...

I'd guarantee UNI, SIU and Loyola get the most "visible on tv" seats this year.

I was told a few weeks ago, we could pick them up in Carbondale starting next week, but maybe that's changed.

I know UNI sold the most tickets since the Tuttle team.

I think you can add Bradley to the TV side as well and then the other 6 would split the 'non-TV' side.

Unfortunately the real question is how many schools only 'sold' the minimum...

All I know is UNI is in 102, 101, 126 and about half of 125
