Bradley easily beat a pretty bad Jackson State team last night, 83-60. This Bradley team is very balanced as they again had 4 players in double figures led by Ville Tahvanainen last night with 19 points. Henry and Terry Nolan Junior each had 16 as well. I like the balance of the team, as there are a lot of players who can score on any given night. They were sloppy at first last night having had a 12 day layoff, so good for them to get back on the court before their one other big chance for a Marquee win next week at Mizzou.

SIU added a game against Butler on Monday. Kind of pumped to see what they can do on the road against a decent opponent.

Another poor non-con showing for Valpo. Didn’t care for the Lottich extension when it happened and I like it less now.

Bryce Drew was there for the taking, wonder if their Arch Madness performance ended those talks.

Bears take down NW ST 94-67. Still playing w/o starting pg Demarcus Sharp and 7'0 reserve Dawson Carper, but looke d little better tonight. Gaige Prim almost had a triple double with 26 pts, 9 rbs, 9 assists, 4 blks. Mosley and Ridder both went for 18 and Ridder had 6 treys. Better test on Monday vs UALR. Bears trying to add a game next Wed before starting season at UNI next weekend. In two games Prim averaging 23pts, 8 rbs, 8.5 assists.

Wouldn't be surprised if you started calling Thursday night in St Louis the Valpo Invitational or something... We're going to be a Thursday team for awhile it seems... I'm sad and ashamed as a fan and alum. I never expected to see Valpo dominate this conference but I honestly thought the program was strong enough to come in and at least be competitive but Valpo has been anything but... And against less than stellar scheduling no less... One non con D1 win. One. Against SIUE. Terrible and inexcusable.

We fans honestly thought the program had turned the corner and gotten its feet under it in its new home last year especially after the Arch Madness run... Then JFL left everything unraveled because everything ran through him and now they have to rebuild for what feels like the third time already since they joined the MVC and we fans are stuck wondering if Valpo will ever get there... Heck we're wondering if Valpo will ever even get to respectability in this conference much less actually winning it even remotely consistently.

Was surprised that Valpo didn't make a coaching change after the first couple years. On paper recruiting has dropped dramatically. when Valpo entered the Valley they actually had the highest rated players in the conference. Multiple 3 and 4 star prospects. Maybe none now?

Bradley needed a 9-0 run to beat a very mediocre Miami-OH team in Peoria 69-68. To be fair, though, Miami made some crazy shots and BU missed some they wouldn't usually miss. Underwhelming, but they say good teams find ways to win on bad nights. Childs hurt himself late in the game. Doesn't look serious -- let's hope it's not.

If Bradley plays w/o some more composure and intensity at MIzzou, it will be ugly. As for the Valley season, holy cow ... never seen a more wide open field.
