Valpo and Loyola fans are especially loving the Butler beatdown AT Hinkle. What?

Great to see the Loyola coaching tree* get a win over Butler at Hinkle.

Domask and Jones have really developed-- SIU is fundamentally solid with some huge talent.

* Butler was a top conference rival to Loyola from the mid-90s through 2012. Loyola played them tougher than any other team, and had the best message board banter.

Bears with a nice win over a decent UALR team [who's picked to win the Sunbelt] 85-77 tonight. Bears still playing w/o pg Sharp and 7'0 Carper, and the officials called it tight and often early, resulting in both teams having to play thru foul trouble all night. UALR who only dressed 8 and had one get injured in the second half actually ended the game with just 4 players on the court.

For the Bears former HS teammates and sophomores Black and Mosley each had 26 points ; Black hit 7 treys and Mosley went for 26 pts, 8rbs, 6 assists, and 2 stls. This Bears team has no resemblance to last year as they are playing hard and sharing the ball with close to 60 assists in 3 games. Once we get Carper and Sharp, I really like the 9-10 guys we're gonna play most nights. Work in progress, but I think we'll be tough to play as year proceeds.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!

He was a member of the SUU player tree long ago! Stay tuned.

Part of the Loyola coaching tree was a player who was winning MVC games well before Loyola came along.

I know Missouri State has only played 2 games but their offense has been really impressive so far. Think I might have been low on them.

I know Bryan Mullins is gracious for the coaching experience as a limb on the Loyola tree. But make no mistake where the roots of that tree are!

Butler had a 59 game home winning streak against non-league opponents so Saluki fans have to be pleased to go on the road and erase that.

We appear to have a bench this year too which is nice. There were games last year when we'd be lucky to get 5 ppg there.

I am enjoying what I am seeing.

You seem angry for some reason. Just let a win be a win.
