Murray keeps their zero Sweet 16 record intact.

It will likely stay that way for a while too. I think them and Belmont are going to be in for a rude awakening when they find out that they actually have to show up every night to win MVC games. The days of 14 out of 18 conference games being gimmes are over. I think Murray and Belmont will adjust better than Valpo has, but I would be very surprised if either one of them comes in and dominates right away.

Belmont maybe. Murray will come in and be one of the top teams depending on who comes back. They're not going to be a 30 win team but still great. Murray already recruits at an MVC level.

Murray seems better equipped to do this than Belmont. Not saying Belmont won’t be a quick study but the point is well taken that a jump like this is the same as if Barca/Real Madrid would transfer to the EPL. A lot harder to win the league/CL if you have to prepare for a much better top to bottom league.

This being said I think that Murray was on the wrong end of a Cinderella story. I was actually more nervous when I found out they had to play St. Peter’s. Good news is now that my bracket is completely destroyed after going 95% through the first round I can freely pull for Notre Dame and St. Peter’s lol

Great to see all the Racer fans in Indy, especially considering Michigan fans are used to making the trip to Indy for the B1G Tournament. On regional assignments, as much as I was rooting for Wisconsin because of my bracket, I was upset with the fact they were assigned to the Milwaukee regional. Considering the drive from Madison to Milwaukee is only 1 hour and 20 minutes it was a Wisconsin home game. I have no idea how they assign teams to various regions, but I feel that it favors the P6 and often punishes Mid and Low Majors.

I don't think it will be a "rude awakening" for Belmont. We just lost 5 graduate students off the roster. Three of them were starters, so we are expecting a drop off in our play. I think we'll be competitive and win some games we shouldn't, but I expect us to be in the middle of the pack at best.

I did not think Murray State would lose this game. Disappointed. Feel bad for their fans. They will be back again next year....will probably make a deep run.

Definitely ready for the MVC. The Racers will be fine. There were around 5,000 fans in Indy last night, the state of the program is just fine. Disappointed yes but I’m not buying the stronger conference they won’t be as good crap. It’s good banter for fan bases but the MVC hasn’t exactly been able to beat OVC teams either and Murray just went 20-0. You can’t take days off in any conference. I’m ready for the change of conference excited for the future. This program is just going to get bigger and better.

Seems like a pretty big leap of faith for a fan whose team has been sheltering in the OVC for a lifetime, and who just got bounced by a 15 seed. You may want to give it a year or so.
