I am just hoping for a positive start to our MVC partnership. UIC hasn't played much competition yet but have been pleasantly surprised by some of our start.

I'll go with:
Drake
SIU
UIC
Bradly
Murray State
Belmont

After watching UNI has Bowen Born taken the Ben Jacobsen baton of - good offensive player, horrendous defensive player - from AJ Green?

UNI needs Heise. Just not enough playmakers/scorers without him. Jokes about Born aside - he is a gifted offensive player.

Bradley just wore them down with size, depth and experience. Great game from PG Duke Deen. Reink Mast just changes the whole look of the team. He has to be doubled almost all the time.

Ugly first half for BU but fantastic finish.

Is this the worst team that Ben Jacobson has put together? Bradley played terrible and still won by double digits. It felt like a buy game.

Don't get why he doesn't bother with the portal. They do have a good incoming HS recruiting class.

Drake/Indiana State game was a fun one to watch. Im a fan of the new-look Hulman Center.

Missouri State pretty much controlled UIC on the road, outside of the first few minutes of play. Bears had Chance Moore back healthy which is a big difference maker, and Donovan Clay had a nice game. Defensive effort has been really good for the Bears this year and the Flames were really bothered by the Bears length and athleticism.

Very disappointing end. The first ~30 minutes was good for UNI.

Not having Phyfe is really tough. Not having carter is also. Henry injured, Heise injured.

Going to be a tough year, obviously. But our defense is actually good for this early in the season.
And there are offensive sparks. Bowen played ~24 minutes per game last year. Tytan played ~8.
We’re on the lower area of the learning curve. I believe this will be a different team in two months.

UNI is going to get killed on the boards this year. A serviceable big would go a long way in that offense. Their defense looked really good at times. When the 3 pointers stop falling, they are in trouble offensively.

Bradley is going to lose some games they shouldn't this year solely from unforced turnovers and inability to make free throws. Luckily, they only needed about 10 minutes of good basketball to win this one.

Duke Deen will draw a lot of Darrell Brown comparisons. Undersized, volume shooter and sometimes makes some boneheaded decisions, but can also get hot and win you games.

Mast is such a difference maker out there and the offense flows so much better with him in.

Leons lets the game come to him and usually doesn't force things. UNI did a good job containing him most of the game. His defense is outstanding.
