Well done, UIC.

Tip of the cap to Marquise Kennedy for his free throw shooting down the stretch against his former team - 6-for-6 in the final minute of the game (8-for-8 for the game).

Aside from a couple of games (Valpo/Illinois and Belmont/Arizona), the Valley could/should run the table for the rest of the week.

UE goes on the road to SEMO and returns home a 76-57 winner. 3-0 record for first time since 2019. Toumi led with 20 points and Humrichous 18. Hosts 3-0 Ball State on Saturday.

The Salukis did what you'd want with three double-digit home wins against a soft schedule to start the season. AJ Ferguson, one of a few guys who look much-improved so far this season, scored more points against Chicago State last night (20) than he had all of last season.

However ... the schedule gets much tougher starting next week. SIU's next five games = early-season darling James Madison and either Fresno St. or New Mexico St. in Cancun, then at Indiana State, then home with SLU and Oklahoma St. So, we'll see exactly where things stand in the next few weeks.

No pressure, Belmont, but you need to beat Arizona tonight.

wow! I don't want to get too exciting as I don't think a win is likely, but if you pull off this win, Valpo, you'll have earned bragging rights here. Go Valpo!

Beacons held their own in the first half. The game is now getting away from them. Illini have outscored them 35-14 so far in the second half. Illinois leads 73-59.
