Looks like tonight is a good night to be a cellar dweller on your home floor.

Stat of the night (so far): Valpo went 25-26 from the FT line.

Schwieger had a monster game: 27pts, 13 rbs, 3 blks.

Belmont plays zero defense.

I was a bit surprised by Bradley beating SIU they way each team had been trending, but the Braves took the lead in that one late in the first half and never looked back. They got 25 from Duke Deen to offset Dibba's 29.

Valpo hung a hundy on Belmont? Couldnt get to 60 against Murray. A happy surprise... snap the 9 game streak.

Belmont doesn't even really compete on the defensive end. That's not going to work here, you can't simply outscore people.

Both OVC teams still figuring out this is a totally different deal

SIU let Duke Deen get going, and get going he did in Bradley’s 78-64 win. Bradley got up as much as 21, Southern clawed it back to 7, but too little, too late.

Only one of Southern’s top three guys (Dibba) played well. Unfortunately Hensley runs hot and cold, and Davis had some foul trouble. Of concern for the Salukis is Damien Mayo, who has been a big part of the upswing: he left with an injury after playing only 5 minutes. Hope it doesn’t linger; they need him.

Geez Evansville. Pathetic. It isn't necessarily the losing that causes so much pain, it is the complete lack of coaching - no bench, very very poor habits on the floor indicating poor practice habits in the gym.

There is no one on the coaching staff who can tell Hughes what he is doing wrong in his shot? No one can work with him in the gym to fix his issues?

Cuff is a Senior. He is completely lost at the free throw line and with his 3. No one on the staff can help him fix this? How many front ends were missed? How many shots hit the front of the rim or just grazed it? Every coach in the land should know why players are consistently missing short on their shot yet the coaches on the UE staff can't seem to find a solution to this after 26 games.

And here comes a red hot Valpo to the Ford Center this weekend. Which Aces team will show up? Will it be the one that knocked off Belmont and Illinois State or the one that can't even execute a basic entry pass that gets rolled by 17 at 1-13 Missouri State?

I am laughing through these tears. Red Hot? Nah. But we'll always have Belmont.

Give me a break. I'm an Evansville Aces fan. We have the worst offense in the MVC and one of the worst in the NCAA over the past several years. When a team scores 101 we consider them red hot compared to the garbage offense we pay to see in front of 2,500 fans in a arena that can hold 10,000.
