I'm sure it'll be a modest/disappointing SIU turnout with the rocky season and Worst Case Scenario of a noon Thursday tip. I know some members of my group (based in the Chicago area) are none too thrilled about having to get on the road before 7 and rushing right to the arena. I was not as much of a fan as some were about moving to four games on Thursday, knowing this day could come where your team could be eliminated before you can even check into your hotel (good times!)

But, grousing aside, we'll be there, and when you have a lousy season, I guess you get what you get. No idea what to expect against the Sycs ... legit would not be surprised by just about any form that game takes, though I like to think Southern will have a better defensive approach than they did the last time the teams met at noon CT.

It really does feel like whoever loses that Thursday Noon game is eliminated from the tournament before 95% of people even arrive in St. Louis. Wonder how many people even make the Thursday Noon tip. I’m lucky if I’m able to get there before that game is over.

Glad the Thursday Noon is game is out after this year. It eliminates a fan base before the tournament even starts.

I'd imagine we go to one session on Thursday. 3:00, 5:30, 8:00 feels about right, doesn't it?

siudawgs, not sure if your group is driving all on 55 or using 355/57/294 -> 80 to get to 55, but 80 is under massive construction between 355 and 55 with standstill backups in rush hour. Make sure to avoid 80 entirely or your group might not get there until halftime. LOL

My prediction:

Thursday - all crazy close and entertaining games
Friday - 4 boring games with the higher seeds winning
Saturday and Sunday - anybody but bradley (not a prediction, just a wishlist)

if we're at 11 next year, dont we just eliminate the 11 seed from the tourney and go back to ten teams with traditional thursday night pillow fights between 7-10?

Agreed other than Belmont-Illinois State could be a fun one depending on which Illinois State shows up.

I think the semifinals will be absolute bangers.
