I think I would disagree with this. McD is a stud, Echenique is a beast, Young is a fantastic guard, and we haven't yet mentioned the MVC Preseason Player of the Year. True, Lawson hasn't been that great, but they do have quite a bit of talent. Ashford and Korver can shoot from anywhere (except the FT line) and I think Manigat has a chance to be a very good guard in the Valley.

This has to be one of the best all-time ever posts on the entire InterWeb.

The sarcasm perfectly mirrors the CU hype we were hearing before the players started putting the ball on the hardwood.

There is no way to say this better.

I don't think 8ball is that off other than Manigat being a very good guard (good role player at best). It's more of a reflection at how much I think we've underachieved this year, that's all.

This entire thread makes me even more proud of my team...The Aces are on, or near, the bottom of every list, yet here we are climbing the ladder in wins. Not pretty, and, in the opinion of much of the posters on this board, not talented; but climbing we are! Guess you could say that takes some talent!

Does UNI bump down on anyone's list with the loss of O'rear?

I think that a lot of people greatly underestimate O'Rear. They see this huge dude, and assume he's not athletic at all, but I would disagree. He's got decent quickness, good footwork, can handle the ball, and really understands the game. Tough, tough break for UNI in losing him.

Creighton better lose some of that talent if they hope to win with McDermott as coach. He was able to make some pretty talented teams at Iowa State pretty bad. His teams at UNI were less talented than a lot of other teams in the Valley, and performed pretty well.

O'Rear's absence probably knocks UNI from a 3 or 4 to a 4 or 5 on talent. The proverbial cupboard is far from bare in Cedar Falls.

I would probably put it this way:
1. MSU
2. WSU
3. Creighton
4. UNI
5. Indy St
6. Evansville
7. SIU
8. Ill. St.
9. Drake
10. Bradley

I fear that this might be giving Drake a bit of short shift, but I haven't seen them either at Roberts or on TV yet this season.

Your analysis is tough to take seriously when it contains the above. Ashford rarely plays....

Our wings are probably the worst in the league. Luckily, all of our underperforming players are seniors, and our best player is a freshman, so we look to be better in the future....

Any team with Korver as a starter has serious talent issues.
