Any true "valley fan" should hope he stays. We need to be a league that can keep it's quality coaches. My guess is that it is wishful thinking by a couple of gomers that can't come up with anything better to talk about because their beloved team is down this year. Maybe if they say it enough it will come true. Personally if TU wants to trade coaches, I'm game. I'd take BP in a heart beat.

Where does this information come from? Sounds like the pot is being stirred. Midseason is an incredibly irrational time to be job searching, especially with a team that's possibly NCAA tourney bound and returns 4/5 starters next year.

It comes from Omaha newspaper write and from Matt the loser in their Chats. If you check out any of the Tennessee boards you will find nothing.

These guys are also saying they know from reputable sources that CU has put the MVC on notice that they will start withdrawing from MVC in some sports if the MVC does kneel down to the CU throne.

They are also saying that CU is making plans on leaving the conference to join some new conference.

Ridiculous. These guys are idiots.

Marshall is "openly lobbying" the Tennessee job that isn't open and somehow NO Wichita media or WSU fans have heard of this. However, WSU-hating, BS excuse for a journalist Matty P. has the inside scoop.

Steve Pivovar is among the most respected and most conservative of all of the Valley beat writers. He hardly has the reputation of being a s***-stirrer and has been covering the Jays and the Valley for a long time. As a wannabe journalist yourself, you might want to take the time you learn the names and reputations of the various valley beat writers before calling them "idiots."

Further, I'm not aware of any times where Pivovar has said that Creighton is leaving the Valley or even looking into it (except for soccer, in which the CU AD is already on the record regarding potentially leaving the MVC for that sport only....)

As a shocker fan can I say who cares?

It's the MVC people. Unless you hire a big 6 failed retread, a local boy, or some porn statche clown who coaches slapping the floor then your team will lose the successful coaches.

Also Gregg would be a great fit for any SEC team. Thats his backyard, oh and last time I checked you don't have to win 3 games in a row in st.louis in order to go to the tournament from the SEC.

Wichita pays great for "it's level" and has great fan support and facilities. They will get another coach that is good and I would rather Marshall leave this year than next. Turg left the shox in just a piss poor position.

Two things from above comments: Just because I believe Turg left WSU in a terrible position doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did when he was at WSU. Secondly if you take offense to my list of coaches that will stay, please don't. Not saying they can't coach, just saying thats about the only ones staying in the valley for long stretches with success.

I'd rather have a coach who's the subject of speculation about taking a BCS job (WSU and MSU) than have a coach who's occupying a spot until the school can raise the money to fire him (most of the rest).

So are the rumors of Marshall wanting to leave a way to generate a self-fullfilling prophecy? Like if you lie about something often enough people will start to believe it? Why would any Valley fan want Marshall to leave WSU? He hasn't really accomplished anything and therefore is a nobody. Why would anyone, especially members of the media in Omaha included, be talking about him at all?
Random MVCFans.com member, circa 2007: "Gregg Marshall is in over his head in this conference."
