12 seed.

Hoping for at least a 2 seed in the NIT but we know how that tournament goes too in regards to BCS crap teams.

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Question: Could MSU's history of being left out actually work in there favor? They are pretty much the poster child for the snubbed mid-major. Do you think the committee might actually be more sympathetic to them, thinking, can we really do this to this team AGAIN?

just curious what anyone thinks about that.

There will be no sympathy for MSU. There are too many other conferences that will have a bubble team with a better resume. Wining the regular season MVC championship will catch the committee's attention. However, when they look at the OOC play and the last loss to ISU, sympathy goes away.

I think you are right that there will be no sympathy for MSU by the committee...and I think that's a shame. BUT, I do find it funny that the last loss to ISU would make the sympathy go away. I think you could have said the OOC schedule and been done with it. If anything in conference is hurtful, it would be the loss at Evansville...who had a lower RPI, lower SOS, worse overall record, etc., than did Indiana State. But, I don't think that one loss is worse than Tulsa or Valpo.

Teams have to schedule better. Play on the road. Play at neutral sites. Stop insisting on home and homes. Just play teams and win.

I think it is close, although I don't see us getting into the big dance.
I say a 1-2 seed NIT.
Here is the problem...we are currently RPI 42, which gives us an outside chance of getting in. Really, we are relying on all the other mid-major conferences having no upsets in their tournaments and the surprise entries. We are truly on a thin bubble.
Every national evaluation I was seeing on MSU was listing Evansville, Tulsa and Indiana State as bad losses (no disrespect to Ind St, but that was being shown on the evaluations). Now losing to Ind St again (if still viewed as a bad loss) would be devastating. When Ind St beat WSU, I commented to friends that the problem for MSU is that a loss in the finals to WSU probably still gets them and WSU in the dance, but another loss to ISU probably kicks us out of the dance.
I hope I am pleasantly surprised, but the fact that the only good wins are in conference (at UNI and a sweep of WSU), and the history with MSU has been unpleasant surprises, I don't see it happening. Although, if there are not a lot of surpise entries from tournaments this week, we may squeek in.

Everyone in the conference should be cheering for it, as it helps every school if two teams get in rather than one.

I am most certainly cheering for you to get in. I really don't think it is going to happen unless the stars and moon align but good luck!

I'd like to see MSU get in, the more the merrier but I saw on a bubble watch that MSU's best nonconference win was Oral Roberts......if that had beaten Valpo, they might have had a shot.

We have been through this before. 3 teams to be exact. Where one more win would have put us in. Maybe the loss at ISUb? Maybe the Tennessee game? More importantly, the final in STL...

I don't see it happening but one can never know. Air Force came out of nowhere in 2006 and got in. They hadn't even scheduled a viewing party for their team. We all know why they got in but maybe we can the favor returned this year...But being Lunardi's first four out means we are actually on the bubble, again

Probably a 3. Frankly, if we're not going to play the freshmen, there isn't much of a point to playing in the NIT.
