I wonder if any other players in the Valley made an emotional reaction to a play at any point in any game. I would think not the way you all react about Weems doing it.

I have met him several times, and he is a great guy and fantastic role model for my kids, yet he gets torched by guys on this board for his emotional play. It just seems like a lot of jealousy from a bunch of guys that probably got cut by their junior high coach, and are pissed off that a guy like Weems could make a bunch of money playing a sport while you stroll back into your cubicle.

Yeah, but CU recruited a character like that. MSU does not do that.

If chest pumping and flexing bothers people that much then I would suggest that basketball fandom may not be for you. Plus Weems backed it up and ultimately won a championship, not too shabby.

I bang on all players, including UNI players, who refuse to act like they have made a basket or gotten a rebound before.

Stinnett won one too moron. He was FOY and NOY and got kicked off the team for being an ass. The difference isn't in the players, it's in how the coach handles or doesn't handle the behavior.

How would you expect a coach to handle that situation when the coach does the same thing the play does in terms of running around screaming, jumping up on and down in celebration, chest pumping, etc...

Here is how UNI celebrated being Kansas - they hugged each other, pointed to the UNI fans in OKC, then left the court....and beating Kansas is FAR bigger than a rebound with 4 minutes left in an MVC game or winning the regular season MVC crown. Coach Jake might have (I can't confirm this in anyway right now) done a small fist pump in front of him.

The difference between UNI and MSU is stunning in this area. I couldn't ever imagine UNI running around like that.

There is a fine line between being emotional and being a straight-up douche/idiot.

Seems like everyone on this board except SWOMO fans can see it.

Uh, UNI was guilty of grandstanding and overall abhorrent behavior that year. The game in Springfield was a perfect example, the dude on UNI that looked liek they guy from My Name is Earl (blanking on his name) was taunting the student section all game long. Also I remember UNI players taunting the Kansas player that had collapsed on the court in sadness. Not exactly a class act.

Yeah, I was speaking in generalities in the second short paragraph dude. If you are comparing a true community champion like Kyle Weems to a punk-like character like P'Allen Stinnett then I simply cannot rationalize with you.

I have never had any problem with a player showing emotion...I was always one of those guys...Creekmores picture that compares to a male ice skater is absolutely one of the funniest things I have ever seen lol...I dont think those things were the real reason he got kicked off...I think his craziness got him kicked off...
