Didn't you hear that when he took the MSU job that he wanted to just go to one place and stay for a long time....that he loved Springfield and wanted to raise his kids here....and did not want to move his kids around....

Did I miss anything that every coach says when they take a job?

Nope...you hit all the cliches. Good work. :)

Replace Springfield with Wichita and you pretty much have what Marshall said when he was hired.

And Turgeon.

There isn't a coach in the world that will admit they would move on if they felt the situation was right. But that is exactly what will happen. Cuonzo will leave if offered a good high paying job, same with Marshall, same with 99% of every other head coach in America.

So true....Alford even swore he was not going anywhere going to the sweet 16, but at the end of the Duke game, they showed his wife in the crowd crying her eyes out. The announcers thought it was because they were losing, but we all knew it was because she knew it was the last game at then SMS. He was off to Iowa right afterward, so we knew he was fibbing the whole time.

Problem at MSU is that the pay is rediculously low....it almost leaves a coach no choice when that $750k job offer comes. I wish we were at least competitive in pay....thanks Cheryl Burnett, that is her legacy.

Going into our Sweet 16 coach Jake called our AD and said I want an extension and I want to be here for along time, and I don't even want "that much" money.

His stock was on fire last year, I think if he was looking to go he would have jumped then. That said, if a good fit comes along and he takes the opportunity I would wish him well.

This stuff isn't worth average fans like us getting worked up about until it happens. That's what we pay ADs six-figure salaries to worry about.

I doubt that happens. Keno and Mac failing like they did were the best things to happen to coaches at UNI I think.

That and when Jake's stock was as high as it will probably ever get....he asked for a cheap extension to stay in CF.

That, and the two Final Four banners. Y'know, the legacy and all.

I know Jake isn't anxious to leave UNI, but Minnesota is the only job he would leave for, in my humble opinion.

and Coach Martin talked about not having anything when he was growing up at the Coach of the year banquet. No chance in h*ll that he doesn't take the cash when offered, and good for him if he does.
