If you don't like Balls of Fury, how about this low budget gem? I present Balls Out: Gary the tennis Coach.

Set in Lincoln, Nebraska, this tale chronicles the challenges, failures and trials of a former professional tennis coach suddenly thrust into the difficult position of coaching a struggling high school tennis team. Emotions vary from defeat to jubilation as the team toils to reach their dreams of making the state tennis tournament. You will smile, laugh and cry as you share in the journey.

And for many, you will simply be stunned to discover that tennis is actually played in Nebraska.

Hoosiers, Miracle on Ice, and Leage of their Own are some of my favorites.

Worst sports movie I ever watched to completion... Side Out.

No. And you should know better.

While a classic in its own right, Death Race 2000 is not a sports movie. When classifying a movie a sports movie, the first qualification is that the movie is based on a real sport. While a great sporting concept, running over people for points is currently not a sport, therefore, Death Race 2000 does not qualify as a sports movie. While I agree with most critics that Slyvester Stallone put in his best ever acting performance in Death Race 2000, just having Sylvester Stallone in a movie doesn't automatically qualify it as a sports movie. Stallone in Over the Top does, however, qualify. Who wouldn't love a story about a trucker winning an arm wrestling title and taking home a brand new Peterbuilt as the top prize?

Back to Death race 2000, while deserving of an Academy Award, if you want to consider it a great sports movie, you must also include Logan's Run, Rollerball and Speed Racer.

Hands down the best sports movie has to be Rudy with Hoosiers and Field of Dreams in a close second and third.
