There are screen shots of it over on Bear Nation to take a look at, but I know that pictures are not as good as a video. What did everyone think of the call?

I honestly don't know the rule that well. The commentator's explanation was that he started falling before contact was made. If that's the rule, then it's the right call, as he did fall backwards before FVV got there. If not, then it's not.

I've got to give huge props to the Bears. MSU gave the Shox the toughest game they've had all year.

That game was tougher than beating SLU on their home court, and SLU looks like a top-25 team when the polls come out Sunday.

This game really makes that 30-point beatdown in Chcago a mystery.

That was a tough call. Scheer appeared to be outside of the arc, however he was not the primary defender, and as such, he has to be completely set before the shooter makes any upward motion. VanVleet's upward motion was way back near the FT line. I honestly see this as a 50/50 call and I'm surprised we got it on the road. This was one of many plays in the last 10 minutes that the Shockers had to have in order to take this game to OT.

I have nothing but compliments for the Bears after their efforts tonight. There's no probably no way for it not to sound condescending, but I really do feel for their fans.

I can remember a home game against SIU during the Turgeon years where we came back from 20+ in the second half and had a shot to win at the end, but it rimmed out. Being so close to such a big win is painful.

I can only imagine it is exacerbated when the the home team is the one holding the lead rather than coming back.

Yes, that was a Big time crowd of Shockers Supporters there. They were loud and proud. They were seen and heard!!!!!! Props to those Shox fans.

Is this a joke? Were you there? I was and I can tell you there were some Shox fans there but you could barely ever hear them.

I also remember a game when WSU (Turgeon) had SIU down by ~20 at halftime and SIU came back and won. Their coach said after the game he just told them to come out and play as hard as they could in the 2nd half and he asked them to just leave it all out on the court, win or lose.

Kudos to Missouri St. They put up a Hell of a fight. Hopefully this gives your team some extra confidence going forward to have WSU on the ropes. Also hope the fans keep supporting knowing anything can happen.

For my Shox I hope this reminds them they are human. Gotta bring it for 40 mins EACH night.

Intense game...

Great game. Great atmosphere. I'm not any less impressed with the Shockers just because we played them so close. I think we are just a very good team when we play with intensity.

Loved some of the individual matchups. Gulley vs Early. FVV vs Marshall. Baker vs Ruder. When I saw Baker on Ruder I really thought he ( Baker) might really shut Ruder down because he's older and a bit bigger and stronger but that wasn't the case. Ruder can just flat out play.

Baker played well too though and at one point my wife commented " that kid is just plain good".

WSU is very very good. Lufile looked better than I expected but I was much less impressed with Carter than I thought I would be.

Wish we could have won but congrats to WSU. Even though this is a loss it still may be something we can build on.

Best thing is, WSU will build on this near-death experience too.

I was there too. The yellow tends to stand out but there weren't over 500 shox fans there.
You knew the Bears weren't gonna shoot 60% all game.
You knew the Shox would make a charge.
What I didn't know was that every call would go the Shox way down the stretch. The Shox were the agressor on defense and offense. The foul disparity in general doesn't bother me because the Bears shot so many 3s. The block call on scheer was a bad call but the new rules make it hard to call a charge. The travel on Baker not called can be explained if you try real hard. The one that got me was the overturn. I knew it was off Gulley but he was fouled. You see it every game....don't call the foul just give em the ball. No sweat.....unless you overrule it. The Bears had a huge lead and the better team stormed back to win.....with EVERY call going their way on the road in a full house.

Great game and yes, that Bears team got smoked by Loyola!
