Super excited about what lies ahead for Evansville. Would love to see the Indiana MVC schools strong!

The MVC has the chance to have some quality depth next season, but you’ve got to have some separation at the top to get multiple bids. Looks like Mo State is building the kind of roster that could do some damage, if things mesh the right way. Ford has been dynamite on the recruiting trail.

Missouri State has landed West Virginia transfer Lamont West, source told @Stadium. HUGE for Dana Ford.

Ford probably wants to implement some Huggins ball too. Great fit.

While separation is good, it can also be done by having a strong out of conference showing. That can carry the whole conference. Butler's OCC showings used to elevate the conference, and when they'd get in conference beat, it wasn't the end of the world.

MSU is scary AF. I'd pick them ahead of my Braves right now and I really like who we've got.

Love what coach Ford is doing. Keep adding playmakers. Depth should definitely be improved next year!

Aces playing in the Bahamas Island Showcase
Teams in the tournament:

East Carolina
Morgan State
Rice
George Washington
Manhatten
Milwaukee
Liberty
Evansville

Looks like a winnable challenge for the Aces.

Aces are also playing in Europe over the Summer with games in England,Belgium and France.

Seems like a good fit for where the Aces will be. Winnable tourney, but not a bunch of low-majors.

Interested to see what Liberty returns as they were the only tourney team. GW could also be tough.

Well Liberty's best player was Scottie James, a Bradley transfer. His mom was a prof at Liberty and he left after his frosh season.

All Valley teams should get in the best tournaments they can. Full stop. Don't just sign up for a tournament with low majors because it's "winnable." We need to get our NET up and every Valley team has to improve their schedule.

Loved what Loyola did last year. They were in the Belfast tournament, bought their way out and signed up for Ft. Myers (which was the best opening at the time). Big kudos to Porter for that.

Chris Dobbertean has a good running list of the MTEs here:

Two things I would say; one is I think there is still some significant roster churn to take place with the Bears. We are a couple scholys over in our offers, and there is substantial rumor about how that will play out. Also there are some academic concerns with a couple players that has to be resolved. Now once all that plays out, i think the roster will still be very good, but I still think it takes into that third year usually for rebuilds. I think a top 5 finish is very doable, but I don't see us as a favorite. Should be an intersting next month for the Bears, so don't be surprised by any additional signings or departures; don't know who, just that it appears likely.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!
