And who might keep them from finishing in the top 4? The only acceptable answer I can see at this point is SIU, which is still a tough ask for an SIU team that struggles with being consistent.

SIU, MO State, and UNI all fit in this category. None are that consistent.

Really only Loyola has been consistent this year. The Valley race is anyone's guess. I just hope Valpo avoids Thursday.

There are just too many times already this season if Green has an off night, the rest of the team is asleep. Look at almost all of their losses, most should have been wins.

Literally every loss came without a full roster.

Carter, Born and Henry unavailable for Nicholls and Vermont (both tournament teams most likely)

No Berhow for Liberty and Wyoming (Liberty for sure a tournament team, Wyoming with a real shot)

Phyfe not able to play against Richmond.

The last 3 games, Marshall and Bonaventure have been the only healthy ones all year and those were either impressive road wins or absolute domination. If UNI stays healthy, they've got every chance to win the league.

Time will tell, but as mad as Ive been at Wardle this year for Bradley, Jacobsen wins the award for biggest disappointment as a coach.

Longtime Saturday in the Valley guys.

Roland's full time job is actually coordinator of officials for Iowa High School Basketball. Great guy. Not a DI level ref.

Roland has been around for a while and is a good guy, but he's definitely not coordinator of officials for Iowa High School Basketball.

Many of guys we all know and want to see on a regular basis worked their way up through Saturday games in the Valley. Everyone has to put in their dues, and it's important they all get a chance. Sometimes that leads to a game where they struggle a bit -- but that usually balances out over time.

Sorry, wrong title. He runs camps to train officials at the high school and lower college levels. You are correct that coordinator isn't the right terminology. Is Chuck still doing that, or did he (FINALLY) hang that up.

Saturday Night in The Valley remains a real thing. Not having access to the same level of officiating we do mid-week gets more and more obvious every year.

Going from guys that work deep into the tournament every year to guys that work 25 games a year total is a staggering difference and, unfortunately, doesn't really have a solution other than playing Sundays since the Big 12 is all Saturday.

You have a good point there. The three referees for the game were Kelly Self, Chase Shaw, and Kevin Driver. Self has worked 26 games this season, Shaw 16 games, and Driver 3 games.

Where are you pulling ref stats from? I've been lost since StatSheet shut down. I find ref schedules and assignments fascinating.

I found a site called natstat.com/mbb/officials
