Rienk Mast was great for Bradley and Bradley was great for Rienk Mast. This isn’t a case of “big, bad P5 schools poach the MVC.” Rienk did what college kids do. Came to Bradley. Was there four years. Will graduate with honors with a degree in Physics. He played basketball well. He helped Bradley win its first league title in 23 years. Rarely do normal college kids spend five years in school.

Rienk wants to challenge himself, see a different part of college and college hoops. He came straight to Bradley from the Netherlands. Good for him.

Best of luck to Mast.

I'm sure Bradley would like him back, but he's been exactly the kind of player you want to help you build a program. Stayed four years, turned into a hell of a player.

Will be interesting to see where he lands. Not many P5 programs play as slow a pace as Bradley.

My money is on Wisconsin.

And fairness to Wardle - they have improved a fair amount in that aspect of things. They aren’t the Showtime Lakers but they aren’t near the bottom of the MVC anymore.

ILSTs Alston Andrews enters the portal. He entered last year but opted to return. After appearing in just 7 games this year, I don't anticipate him back.

Assuming Sissoko and Kotov are going, having gone through senior day activities but have two and one years of eligibility respectively, Petrakis has entered and now Andrews, Birds have 4 to fill this Spring.

Drake's Bryceson Burns is in the portal.

He's been with Drake for 3 years, and has scored 32 career points, so this one is not a surprise at all.

This wasn’t a surprise. Ville was a four year player who graduated. He’s heading to Europe to start a pro career.

UE gets Eastern Illinois transfer and the son of UE legend Scott Haffner, Cameron Haffner. He was the Freshman of the Year in the OVC.

Meanwhile, USI's best-returning player, Isaiah Swope has hit the portal. I anticipate a lot of the valley schools will be after him.

It's a good pick up for us. Hopefully he isn't under his dad's shadow.

Another twist is you have to wonder how Marty Simmons feels about losing his promising freshman to the school that fired him? FWIW, I do believe he and Scott have remained friends over the years.

I haven't seen him play, but it looks like he improved through the year. It may be good get for UE.
