Discuss the MVC hoops season here.

I read this earlier on SN and tweeted about it (follow us - https://twitter.com/#!/MVCfans )
- what a great game for WSU. To get an NCAA caliber team in your town for a "buy" game and have it count as a neutral site win is amazing for a non-BCS team.

Great job of scheduling. Games like this help the entire conference.

Sorry Casey I don't agree with you. I found the whole MSU to CUSA story line pretty amusing. Pretty much the whole premise was based on a twitter post. I know it's possible there are was some truth to it (or still could be) from a behind the scenes standpoint. But not enough to get so excited about.

I've found the posts pretty funny and don't think of my acceptance as pandering at all. Those posts would not have been acceptable on our bearsnation board. I'd have been upset too if they had been posted there. But to me this board is totally different.

Speaking personally I'm a Bears fan foremost but I joined this board to learn more about the other mvc teams and their fans. I'm interested in what is going on with programs like CU and Northern Iowa. i like and respect both programs. As well as several of the others. I'll be honest here and say that you oftentimes come off as a Bears fan to the exclusion of all else - even common sense. I appreciate your passion but saying things like Northern Iowa got "lucky" in the tournament 2 years ago??

I think it still counts as a home game since it's in Wichita.

I agree. It seems like the quality of the non con games is going up across the Valley somewhat. Would you agree?

Now we just need to win a fair percentage of those.

That may be true. However, even if that's the case, it's a great deal for Wichita State.

I don't think it does. The Philly schools play what I believe are neutral games in Philly all the time. Either way, it's nice to have one less crap school on the schedule.

This game will likely not be included in the season ticket package, unlike the Tulsa game last year, which of course was done by WSU and moved from Koch to IBA.

Two completely different games. Marshall has stated that he would like a game a year at IBA. The players love the newness of the venue. Most fans like it because more can get in and provides a little more things to do before and after the game. The only people annoyed with IBA were the ones that couldn't fathom the idea of fitting a square into a round peg.

I'm confused as to why a team that made the NCAA tournament last year would take a buy game against a mid-major.

They need the money?

Or perhaps the promoter has promised/agreed to set up a similar game for them at home next year?

Why did UAB also accept a buy game with WSU back in 2007?

Maybe C-USA is trying to court WSU and UAB is taking one for the team?

Sometimes we think too deeply into the how's and why's. It was set up, good for WSU!

On the other hand, I see what you did there at the end, Royal! Clever, simply clever!

Regardless of how clever you set that up, I refuse to be the guy to discuss the high level meetings held at Koch Arena last week. The meetings where the sealed envelope was left with instructions to be opened at the next Board of Regents meeting.

Nope, I'm not gonna bring it up.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!
