The Bears shot the ball terribly and the officiating was also really poor. Both things contributed to the loss, but the shooting was the main factor. What the officiating does is break up momentum for the home team and really takes the air out of the building.

Bears didn't lose because of the refs, but it just happened to be that the refs made a lot of frustrating calls at the same time that shots that usually fall didn't, and it's more easy to direct angst at one of those sources of frustration than the other.

I'm honestly less disappointed by the loss itself (I mean, UNI is a good team) than I am disappointed that the Bears couldn't put on an exciting game on a day that the students and community actually showed up. My hope is that people won't be turned off by an ugly night and decide not to show up to the next one.

Good point on the officiating.

Before the Ts, which were both certainly earned, and the fouling at the end, here's how the fouls and free throws looked.

FOULS-
UNI 17
Missouri State 14

FREE THROWS-
UNI 13
Missouri State 14

Man, Missouri State got screwed and the refs were totally the reason that they lost by 20!!!

Kelly Self!!! (Didn't call either technical)

Fact is that Missouri State played the only other team in the league that wants to play that style with them and UNI has been doing it for 15 years. You just flat got beat at your own game by the team that might be playing the best basketball in the league right now.

Ford deserves to be suspended for his clown act last night and I hope the league does it. I don't remember the last suspension in this league and two of the new guys have managed to get it done in the same year. I'm really impressed.

CBJ is a class act, always had been. I believe this was a case of CDF getting taught a good lesson from a veteran MVC coach. CDF basically admitted that his game plan did not work, and I believe he will learn from that quickly. Making shots would have helped make a game of it, but alas. Also believe we had a let down from LUC. In combination with a short bench, injuries, etc, I’m glad to be where we are.

CDF wears his emotions on his sleeve, and he will learn to not let them get the best of him. That comes with experience. Something tells me that this will be the last time we get swept by UNI with CDF at the helm. The Bears are waking up and it’s just a matter of time.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Ok? New on this board, so I’m not in the loop.

For the same reason I forgot to put a CS on my TPS report.
