UPDATE: Lyndal Scranton of the News-Leader reports today that three Missouri State assistants -- Jon Harris, Kent Williams and Steve Woodberry -- each want the opportunity to convince Missouri State athletic director Kyle Moats that he is the man for the Bears' job.

While one report yesterday suggested that the Missouri State job could pay upwards of $700,000 annually, Moats told the newspaper that MSU plans to offer a contract consistent with the $300,000 Cuonzo Martin earned while at the school.


Sounds more like MSU. Seems I read that the assistants were going with CM. What happened to that?

Wouldn't surprise me if he has offered them a job if anyone of them don't get the HC job here. All 3 have applied and talked to Moats about wanting the job

I have heard a few buzzings that Nolan was looking at Arkansas State, but is interested in MSU since it came open. While it is hard for me to imagine our extremely conservative area buying into a pretty radical guy, I am wondering if there is any truth to it.

Anyone heard anything on this?

I don't see the part of my post that said I believed it, and definately did not say I wanted it.

Just something that I heard and was wondering if anyone else had heard anything.

300k is not a bad STARTING salary. If you prove yourself there is more available since Cuonzo could have more than doubled that plus incentives. If you become a hot commodity you can parlay that into big numbers elsewhere. MSU will not be able to compete with the big boy offers and neither can any other Valley school. Altman is gone and Marshall is going not because they weren't paid enough.
