Don' t get me wrong, they are still the best in the Valley.

Ridiculous. The Shockers are still an elite and unbeaten team. They just happened to play a good team that was executing very well and that was playing at home in front of a pretty raucous crowd. That's a recipe for an upset and they still won the game.

They replayed that many times, nobody touched him he just lost control of the ball. On Baker, he fell on the ball and just layed on it and didn't move - not a travel.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned--it shouldn't have been even a jump ball near the end of the game. When the MSU player finally tied up Baker (what a smart play), his foot is clearly out of bounds.

To see what he was talking about see link to picture. MSU player foot is clearly out of bounds and Baker is just laying on top of the ball not moving.

We are not unbeatable, and if we played every game the way we played the first half last night, we would likely not be ranked. I think our body of work does demonstrate that we are top 10 good, and I have watched dozens of top 10 teams and feel that we would beat most of those teams on most nights. Of course I could be wrong. Also, what about MSU? How good did they look against a top 10 team? They will of course get no style points in the poll voting, but they showed themselves to be quite capable.

During the first half MSU couldn't miss a shot and put the Shox back on their heels, they tried to dig out of it to start the second half and it worked but MSU fought back and got up 19. The talent this team showed doing what they did last night, added to their record this year and their final 4 run last year speaks for itself. The basketball IQ of Ron and FVV is off the charts. Ron knew what he was doing when he was on the floor and not moving. He knew the clock would still be running and he knew the situation perfectly. I challenge you to find more than a couple other players in the nation that would have had their minds that clear at that moment in this game. I guess what I'm saying is that its not just talent or physical gifts that separate this team. It is multiple things that they began showing in their run last year and have continued to build on this year. The ranking means nothing in the end if they can keep winning. We'll see how the Trees stack up next Saturday.

No team is perfect or invulnerable. That's what makes this sport great. Going by what you said I can say Indiana State didn't look like a top 150 team the couple times I have seen ya. Have to judge off the body of work.

Now if your opinion is still that we don't look like a top 10 team then that is your opinion. But to say 1 game opened your eyes is shortsighted and silly.

If anything opens your eyes it is that the Shox showed they can overcome a 19 point deficit with 11:38 left and still win on the road in the conference in a good environment. That would have me more impressed then had we blown them out from the get go.

During the first half, I thought my TV went haywire and I was watching the Colts-Pats game.

The referees were bound and determined not to call a foul on the Bears.

Can't believe you even attempted to play that card on a night where you shot 40 foul shots and we shot 19.

I suggest that you watch a replay of the first half.

"Maybe the best Valley team I’ve seen in 24 seasons of covering the league. And not just because of obvious individual talent. It’s a tough-minded bunch. A team with any mental weakness at all would have waved the white towel down 19 with just 11 minutes and change to play."

FWIW that is the Mo St beat writers thoughts

Also Bears are pretty good at JQH:

"WSU improved to 4-2 at JQH Arena, joining Northern Iowa as the only Missouri Valley Conference teams with a winning record at the arena."

Syracuse is not Top 10 they struggled with St. Francis at home. Arizona is not Top 10 they barely beat Drexel. Michigan State is not Top 10, they barely beat Oakland.

Some Valley fans have this ridiculous assumption that Top 10 teams only play Top 25 teams tough and blow everyone else out. They criticize WSU's play but ignore every other Top 10 team. Hold us to a higher standard than everyone else if you want, but it doesn't make our team any worse.
