Arlington also plays in a new 7000 seat arena that will instantly be top half of the Valley and very nice, newer baseball and softball facilities.

It's also incredibly easy to get in and out of Dallas, obviously.

If you look past the geography, which isn't a huge deal, they're a slam dunk add for the league.

Have UIC and UT-A been that bad historically and over the last 5 seasons in the NET/RPI and KenPom?

This questions was asked and answered above. Now, over the past 20 years, how have they fared? Would you call them better or worse than 250+ NET/RPI programs?

Over the past 20 years, better. Period. Better. I would be open to seeing statistics instead of an arbitrary 250+.

I hate the travel and don't think they fit in as a Valley school and think it'll be a huge loss for Arch Madness because they're not traveling 13 hours to see their team but UT Arlington makes a lot of sense as a sleeper going forward. I'd rather just add UIC and Murray State and call it a day though.

The dumbest of which are non member posters on another team or league's fan board. As much as I'd like to see Murray St in the MVC , I'm already tired of listening to a few of their posters whine.

If by whining you mean proving our points with facts then yep, we are whining. We just don’t want to see the MVC make the same mistakes of our dying conference. We’ve played this game before. And we are also tired of being jerked around so hence the hostility.

Comparing the OVC to the MVC at any point in history is ludicrous.

Those add absolutely nothing of worth.

Adding Belmont, UIC, and UT-Arlinfton while losing Loyola would cause a top 10 league to become a bottom 10 league?

Thank You.

Pretty much no matter what the Valley does is going to leave it in it's historical norm of 8th-12th every year. There isn't a single school out there that somehow vaults the Valley above the 7 or 8 consistently in front of us.

This x1000. The league is what is it. There is no magic bullet that is going to take it to a top seven league nor is it going to be doomed to a bottom 15 league based on one or two teams. The future of the Valley resides in the holdover members being better.

You are being disengenous about UTA. They haven't been anywhere close to a 250+ program in the last five years. Again, not a slam dunk basketball power, but a 147 average NET in the last five years isn't close to 250+.

Wow. What you are seeing is an engaged fanbase, one that would only grow if Murray State is admitted to this conference. But, yes, we are all getting weary of this. I think it will be over soon. If Murray is deemed unworthy, the Racers will be fine. Personally, there's a better chance I would travel south for a January road game than to Iowa or northern Illinois. But maybe that's just me.

But, yeah, go ahead with the insults. (I realize the vast majority on this board have been welcoming.) You've seen the great hordes from Belmont participate on this board. It's nothing but Nashville up in here. Expect the same from UIC and UTA fans. Tumbleweeds. But maybe some like it that way.
