Just spitballing here but IF we could get all of Murray State Belmont Little Rock and Oral Robets on board should we consider going to 14 or is it best for us to just go to 12 (assuming Murray State and Belmont are willing) and call it a day?

I say stay at 10. There's too much movement right now. Schools are constantly looking to move up and eventually the P5 + Big East could just play their own tournament, especially if CFB sets the precedent soon. Then the MVC would have a bunch of extra added schools for no reason.

I haven't followed this too closely...but it seems reasonable that the MVC could attract Murray State and Belmont. If that happens perhaps they could leverage the power of having Chicago and Nashville in the conference to attract SLU and Dayton. That's a lot of decent markets and the MVC would then have more to offer for TV deals.

I really don't get the fascination with Arlington. I know they have a market and are investing a lot in their university and I have heard they have decent baseball but they have absolutely no tradition in the MVC's flagship sport and despite their being situated in a hot and growing market they have no share in that market because they don't draw. If we want a good baseball school that won't be terrible in basketball we should go after Oral Roberts instead.

OVC is collapsing. Wonder what it would take for the MVC to convince Belmont and Murray St now is the right time to move.

It would seem that with the departure of AP, the OVC is now quickly dissolving. I would have to think that Murray State and Belmont see what is happening, The last thing they want to do is to see the other leave the conference and then find themselves with only the bottom feeders of the OVC remaining. Murray State and Belmont would be fantastic additions to the MVC, and ensure the MVC will continue to be a vibrant conference. Certainly these discussions would have to be going on in the league office.

You lose three teams this past off season, and other conference realignments happening, yes, you can safely say this league is sinking quickly. Does Murray State or Belmont want to be left stranded? It is abundantly obvious their is going to be a continual shift/divide in the next 2 - 3 years.

I don't see the private schools letting in a public school with no football I place of a private school so if 4 schools were somehow added I'd say Murray State, Belmont, Northern Kentucky, and Lipscomb.

There are better schools to add than Lipscomb, but the private schools will force a private school.
