Um, who is this in reference to?
Ohio Bobcats play WMU Broncos
Quinnipiac Bobcats play Niagara Purple Eagles
Texas St Bobcats play South Alabama Jaguars
Montana St Bobcats play Idaho State Bengals
Colorado is the only Buffaloes in D1.

The private schools have to be positively shitting their pants at this point. That's why it's got to be Arlington and UIC first. 1 or 2 extra out of state students pet class paying out of state or private tuition can and will make a huge difference.

After 5 years as an NCAA independent, Belmont joined the Atlantic Sun conference. Since that time, the school has had 19 consecutive years of growth.
2 years later after joining the ASUN, we went to our first post-season tournament with an NIT appearance. Our student population growth dwarfed all other Middle Tennessee universities. 2 years later, we started a string of 3 consecutive NCAA appearances.
We joined the OVC for the 2012 season. For the next 9 years, we finished the regular season first or tied for first place 8 of those years. 3 of those years we went to the NCAA tournament and one year we qualified but the tournament was cancelled.
Since 2012, Belmont freshman enrollment has grown better than 20% each year. This comes during those OVC years when we play our conference games in such mega cities such as Martin, TN (population 10,254), Morehead, KY (7,510), Richmond, KY (36,839), Cookeville, TN (36,030), Jacksonville, AL (12,376), and Charleston, IL (19,967).
Jumping to a higher profile conference has helped Belmont, but it seems to me that NCAA appearances help enrollment more than playing in large metropolitan areas. Below is a link on a 2020 article on how NCAA tournament appearances affect student enrollment.
