That "flukey thing" beat you 2 out of 3 times last year. It's not a fluke when it's a repeated task, Indiana State beating Wichita State was a much larger suprise to me than MSU.

You've provided several lol's in this thread, but this one might be right up at the top. A Masters dregree? How will everyone be able to complete with MSU? League domination is inevitable.

Most coaches in college have a Masters degree, in fact alot of schools require it.

Casey, do you ever think you could have an impartial viewpoint?

You really think Lusk is an upgrade to Martin? Really? Would you have felt the same if Martin stayed?

One of the biggest problem your school faces is $$$. I don't think you realize that along with the other lack of sustained success your school's athletic programs have provided.

 If anything Creighton is the only real Missouri Valley team but thats hardly relevant (heck, it isnt relevant at all) to the issue.

Also last season was the first time in 3 years Mo St. had been in the top 6 of the final standings in the MVC. And have only been 1 or 2, three times in the past 10 seasons. Sounds pretty mediocre to me...I'm not saying they're bad. The bears have a couple of 20 win seasons in there, but I don't know how that qualifies for anything better than average when you look at it overall. You have been the regular season bottom-feeder as many times as you've been champs (once!). Your move

Regular season champ means more than post season where flukey things can happen. I'm not taking a shot at Indiana State here, just making a general point. NIU was a good ball team that season, but they had the sort of luck that Jimmy Johnson has in Nascar and Kevin Harvick's point would apply here to. And Ali did have a moment though it is hard to be national name with a last name so long.

It has only taken me 2 days on MVCfans.com (I'm starting to question how it took even that long) to conclude that you have no clue as to what you are talking about.
1) Northern Illinois University is not in the MVC...the University of Northern Iowa is however, maybe that's who you meant. Thought a Mizzou State fan would know that.
2)That degree won't win you ball games, also very few coaches don't have that degree. And UNI hired someone who had worked with those players and the program (and was familiar already with the MVC and its teams) for years so it was an easy transition.
3)Thank you for reminding me how UNI winning the regular season title was sooo much sweeter than knocking off the #1 team in the nation and making the Sweet 16. And you can frame that win however you want, UNI still won, still became national story and until Mizzou State ( ;) ) does something of relative importance on the national scene, UNI will be more relevant in CBB. I'm sure it's that regular season title that is boosting the number of applications UNI is recieving and gave us the unprecedented level of talent our incoming recruits have...not that Sweet 16 run. Gotta love TAFE and the people who are oblivious to it.

Your move sparky

+1000
I think besides about two schools in our conference, money is an issue and that's not a slight at any team,Its a fact of reality. Never really thought this was going to happen, it sounded way too much like it was adopted from the plot of the movie "Push" with Chris Evans.

I have noticed in my months of watching this place that people like to use nicknames and whatnot as a slant on here. Being an alum of one valley team and an employee of another, I hate to see stupid stuff like this. Let's grow up people and stop being so gd childish.
