Auburn is guaranteed - the other 2 schools play on the first day, then the winners and losers play on the second day.

We knew it from UNIs full schedule but Rocco Miller confirmed it.

Everybody will play two league games (1 home, 1 away) between Nov 29th-Dec 4th.

I get it. I don't exactly know how I feel about it but since our tournament is a week early, we're always going to have to play pre-Christmas games.

If I were doing the scheduling, I'd make those two games everybody's single plays because they're going to feel more like non-con games but I'm sure that's not what's going to happen.

Why? It is awkward, yes. But teams are usually playing close to their peak by late November/early December. I've always hated having to deal with a somewhat lengthy layoff around Christmas (unless you are in a tourney) and then having to dive right into league play.

I don't really like the single play idea. If you're competing for a seed with a team you've only played once and it was in November? Yuck.

With the amount of player movement I don't think most teams are anywhere close to playing at their peak that early. Plus it makes it difficult to play your younger players and get them experience when you're playing critical conference matchups 5 -6 games into a season. I don't mind a noncon game part way thru the normal conference season like bracketbusters was; that often was a nice break, but to play 2 conference games separated a month from the rest of the conference season just seems disjointed.

One of Bradley’s known home opponents (EMU) just landed former #1 prospect Emoni Bates. EMU was thought to be a 300+ cupcake but maybe now just a 200+ cupcake

I believe this is a rundown of what we know for the Birds.

10/29: Exhibition: Wooster (Where Pedon played college ball)
11/12: at Northwestern State
11/17: Northwestern State
11/21: vs LSU (Cayman Islands)
11/22: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/23: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/29-12/4 (two MVC games, one home, one away)
12/7: vs EMU
12/10 - SIUE
12/17: vs Ball State (at Indianapolis)
12/19- Chicago State

There may have a return game @UNCW. Gotta think they'll be going on the road a couple more times. I'm thinking they get a game on 11/8 when the season kicks off. Don't anticipate a game between 12/10 and 12/19 (finals are 12/10-12/16).

Pretty "bleh" but there are opportunities for quality wins in Cayman. Start against LSU, and the others in the field are Akron, Rhode Island, Kansas State (xfer Luke Kasubke's former team), Nevada and WKU.

I'm okay with Pedon not throwing out the best schedule year one. Build the roster, get the culture right and then focus on the other things. I hope for a better one in 23-24.

This is a bit off topic but hopefully close enough. A lot has been said about OOC scheduling and even unbalanced conference schedules… here is an interesting development from the WAC
