Don't think you can play three exhibition games. I would guess the November 5 game is a part of your schedule?

Last time we played the Bears ran the Tigers off their own floor that was in 1998. It wont happen until we get a new govenor, preferably one without a yellow belly.

You won 72-69 in 1998, not exactly running them off the floor, the 19 point win they had over you in 1988 would be more akin to that. It's too bad you don't get to face them more (only 4 times), maybe then they'd even put you're name in the right spot alphabetically in their media guide (right now it still is where SMS was-must be that Big 12-2 alphabetizing).

I know you have had some recent series with SLU, how often do you play UMKC and are there any other D-I schools in Missouri?

We have been a better program that UMC quite a while. I'd like to play them just to prove it to people in this state but most of the informed people know. We would have beaten them the last five years or so. They have proven to be afraid of us in most sports so they will continue to duck us just like the do in every sport but baseball.

Southeast Missouri State is the other D1 program in Missouri. We have not played in 6-7 years since they and the refs beat us playing 8-5 at the Show Me Center. No interest in playing them or UMKC really because we have little to gain and they are bad RPI games. SLU is a good opponent and we have owned them lately. We had one taken away from us that was a total screw job in 2005-2006 that might have kept us from the tournament. The SLU fans have accused us of ducking them because we are adjusting our schedule with a young team but we play them on a regular basis.

SyacamoreFanatic--Missouri State got a special exemption to play an additional exhibition game as the game is a fundraiser going towards helping the people of Joplin, Missouri who were devastated by a tornado. The game is at Missouri Southern.

Missouri got that same exemption and they are holding a game there too for disaster relief.

Little early to be drinking isn't it? We MIGHT have beaten them this year depending where the game was played but to say we have been the better program for quite some time when they have been to the Dance, the Elite Eight at that, over the past 5 years, is a pretty big stretch

My opinion (just an opinion) is the MU and MSU have been pretty even over the last 5 years. I think if we had played them this year we would have beaten them at the Q, possibly beaten them on a neutral site, but lost on their home floor. Have they (MU) been to an elite 8 in the past 5 years? You could be right but I don't remember that?

They went to the Elite Eight in 2009 and won the Big TWELVE tournamnet.

blueblood wrote:It would appear they had two offers. They had an offer from Creighton for a home and home. A promoter offered X amount of cash for a nuetral site game with WSU. The RPI effect of either game had to be similiar. I am willing to bet it came down to money. The amount offered must have been more than what they felt they could make from a home game.

From what I hear, Creighton is playing UAB in a home-home starting on the road this season.

Please, please, please tell me that Indiana State didn't take a money grab to play at Vanderbilt and this is actually a home and home series.
