Kansas has S-Curve priority and prefers South to Midwest, geography-wise (Memphis > Indianapolis). It's close though.

Same reason Wichita has been projecting into the South, not Midwest, in some brackets.

Why would they prefer south over Midwest?

South regional is played in Memphis. Midwest regional is played in Indianapolis. Memphis is closer, in terms of miles away, to Lawrence, Kansas than Indy. These are the things the committee cares about the most. :?

TAS, it might be shorter mileage wise to Memphis, but air travel and driving time are virtually the same for both from Lawrence.

Oh will you just let me dis-advantage Duke just once already ;)

Meanwhile, a lot of high-impact games as I write this. Florida and Syracuse competing to see who can do more catastrophic damage to their resume

Boston College's ACC wins this season:

Virginia Tech
@Virginia Tech
@Syracuse

makes sense

My apologies. Boston College only had five wins over D1 programs.

Even the best teams struggle in February?

Looking ahead to Duke?

Never mind. There is absolutely no excuse for a team like Syracuse to ever lose to a team like Boston College.

I said Syracuse would stay ahead of Wichita with a loss, but I was thinking @Duke, or even @Maryland. Home to BC is catastrophic

The 1 line:
Florida, Arizona, Wichita St, Syracuse

Syracuse doesn't pass the eye test. At all.

If Arizona loses, you might be able to talk me into Florida < Wichita, but I give a mulligan every now and then.

I think Florida is the best team in college ball. Their poor game against Auburn notwithstanding.

Arizona I don't buy as a strong one seed anymore. They have a lot of road games coming up, and I expect them to drop 1-2 more. They're just not the same team without Ashley.

Syracuse instantly just became the worst of the one seeds. And Duke should take their one seed if they can win at home (and survive this ridiculous week they have). I think Syracuse might drop three-to-four more games before the NCAA Tournament.

I think it's closer than you think, but yeah, I'd lean Duke too in that scenario. Well, maybe. Syracuse still has pretty good peripherals (we can bag them for avoiding road games, but we have to give partial credit for Maui).

Also, remember last year when Duke had a better resume than Miami, but Miami won the ACC regular season and conference tournament? No one could decide who should be seeded ahead of who, and Gonzaga leapt both for a 1 seed.

Prediction: Virginia is going to screw up both Syracuse's and Duke's chances for the 1 line by doing the same thing
