I have tired of reading this thread and decided to just post my thoughts. Hope they aren't repetitive of other viewpoints.

The kick should have been immediately called a technical. ISU shouldn't have got fouled and got 2 freethrows. Redbirds got 2 more points than if the game was propperly reffed. I don't care if he kicked Cottons shin...it was deliberate!

WSU players and coaches are stupid, classless jerks.

Both these viewpoints were expressed in my house unanimously in real time.

You know, I really, REALLY thought it was intentional, but when faced with the convincing argument of someone so clearly unbiased, you've really changed my mind, RedbirdLisa. Clearly we're all wrong and it's just normal to shoot your foot out at 80 degrees into an opposing player when you rebound. Happens all the time.

It looked intentional to just about every single person not wearing red. Carmichael is a dirty player.

Man, look at all those photos that have absolutely nothing to do with him throwing a foot into another player's face while rebounding.

I especially like the one about his "normal" rebounding style, which has neither of his legs anywhere near the position of kicking someone.

Are you actually trying to justify and condone this play against WSU? Let's just agree that Carmichael is a good player and a good kid who made a dumb mistake in the heat of battle... He paid the price for his error -- National embarrassment and it cost his team the game.
