Who or when has it been said its about market size other than by posters on the board or unofficial "sources"?

Who or when has it been said the football is the hold up other than "sources"?

So to say "it is what it is" is just b.s. Nobody truly knows what it is and won't until an official announcement is made. However, if we are passed up again it will be a major kick in the nuts.

I made the market size comment based on the line that has been used by the league office when adding Loyola and Valparaiso and also when discussing UTA last summer. If market size wasn't a driving factor, then the league office would not praise the market size of these schools. Therefore, Murray State being in a small market is a problem.
You are correct about football. It seems to be a problem, but I was drawing a conclusion there.
Market size is a real, legit issue though without a doubt. Sorry.

You assume that what people say to justify their decisions are the truth. As for what you say when discussing adding Loyola (at the time, certainly not anymore) and UTA has to be market size. After all, what else can you say positive about UTA now (and Loyola pre MVC success to a lesser extent)?

I think we can safely assume if the sole criteria was purely a basketball decision Murray State would have been admitted long ago. It seems reasonable to believe market size or football program, or both, are the hang ups. I have honked for the Racers a long time. I most certainly believe they would greatly improve the chances of the MVC being a two bid league in most years, and add a lot of fun and excitement for all our teams. The MVC's chances of making additional monies and recognition seem a surer bet to me than any other option. I understand the reasoning for wanting a team in Arlington, but I am not sold on it. Murray State is the best choice, followed by UIC. My guess is that we will find out next week.

For Loyola other than market they are a large private school so they could easily make a financial commitment that smaller schools and public schools couldn't make as easily.

Well, I doubt it is a league or national conspiracy to keep Murray State in the OVC and away from the MVC. Do you have any other logical reasons?

I don't know why they wouldn't be paying an exit fee. I don't think ours is large anyway.
