I really don't think anyone knows what is going to happen. I don't. And even though he works for the evil empire at ESPN, Andy Katz doesn't know either. He is making the same SWAG's we are. We don't know if Creighton has been talked to, we don't know if Evansville is bolting for the Horizon. They re guesses. What we do know is that the Catholic seven are breaking from the Big East. What happens next will only be known after the sealed envelopes are hand delivered following secret meetings with high ranking officials, private jets and black ops helicopters.

To me, the speculation is a lot of fun. And I do find it humorous that school officials are having a meeting to determine what to do with Creighton, when there hasn't even been an offer submitted to them.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

Maybe they are just being pro-active. Which I think is a good thing. It may be a little late to talk to CU once the invite actually comes (which I think will probably be later than sooner).

I guess when Creighton sneezes, the rest of the MVC catches a cold.

I am blown away by the meeting. In some ways this has to be unprecedented - there is only speculation (no confirmation) that a single team in a conference may be leaving, yet the remainder of the conference is calling meetings, etc. for that one team.

Maybe Elgin is hearing that Creighton will be getting an offer? As a Jays fan, one can only hope.

With all the turmoil regarding movement of teams to different conferences, I'm happy that the MVC is being proactive, rather than reactive.

Yeah, Elgin needs to have plans already in place depending on who goes and who stays. He needs to be able to react immediately, so get everyone on the same page before it begins.

Here is the two dollar question:

Was or is Creighton invited to the meeting about the Creighton problem?

More questions:

Was it a teleconference or an in person meeting?
If in person, did Wichita State loan Evansville a jet so the in person meeting wouldn't have to be delayed to accommodate Greyhound's schedule?

Are they, or did they vote on anything?

Besides the Creighton problem, will they discuss piss-poor officiating?

How is Odum's foot doing?

Paul Suellentrop writes about the conference call, with a quote from Berruh:

League admins conference call quite frequently. That isn't out of the ordinary.

In all seriousness, this is no way to handle this type of situation unless

A. Creighton has already bee extended an offer and has indicated that they are in fact, leaving.
B. Creighton is included in all discussions, discussions are generic and no school is singled out.

If this is a meeting, teleconference or whatever and A, and or B, have not occurred, in the spirit of being proactive, you have made a pariah out of Creighton, and basically packed their bags.

When trying to navigate these issues, you are literally walking a knotted, twisted and frayed tightrope. Don't believe me? Just ask Dan Bebee.
