Correct me if I am wrong....and I'm sure someone will...but you do not simply "tryout" for a USA team, you have to be asked.

You are correct. They have a try out for the team, but you have to be invited in the first place.

That wasn't the point, I wasn't of the understanding that his age group even had a team outside of the Olympic team.

In the first game of the FIBA World Championships, Doug McDermott led the US to a 115-60 win over Egypt. Doug scored 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting.

Doug scored 15 and had 8 boards in an 82-66 win over China yesterday. He is making a name for himself in this competition which is good for CU and the MVC.
