Missouri State will win the conference folks. You heard it here first.

And then it's off to C-USA.

Really? I would take a much closer look at what UNI is bringing in this season, and the redshirts from last season. The cupboard is ANYTHING but bare.

I voted UNI 6th also just based on how dependent you guys were on Kwadzo Ahelegbe and O'Rear...especially how you finished without O'Rear. James, Koch and Moran are nice players but after that it is a lot of unknowns just like us.

Doesn't really matter where you are picked...we proved that last year. I don't really have a clue where we will finish but we have more talent 1-10 than last year especially if Pickens stays healthy.

Or maybe WSU will actually win the conference this year and finally live up the expectations for them? Then it's off to the Big East for them.

Big East?!?!?!?!?!?! Did you see that on Twitter?....

Not Twitter. It was actually a post on Facebook by a WSU player's grandmother. That makes it pretty reliable doesn't it????

It just isn't as funny unless it really happened, which in this case a twitter report to another conference was..

To get this back on track, MVJ's picks so far and as I will vote (if the available schools last that long) throughout the polling.

10. I can't remember, Illinois State, or Bradley. I think Bradley. I hit the rest of them jus like the fans voted.

9. Bradley

8. Illinois State

7. Drake

6. Missouri State- Too many new pieces, new coach. Too many ?'s. Could finish higher, but not lower.

5. UNI- Same ?'s as MSU, but give nod to coaching experience and proven success.

4.- Indiana State Odum is good, but one guy does not a team make. ISU-B will probably be the MVCFans pick at number three, I have them at four.

3.- Evansville Marty is putting it together. While not a bunch of All Valley players, they are deep and look a lot like UNI of a few years back.

2.- Creighton Deep, skilled, veteran. What more could you want? They have a great coach and it took McDermott exactly one year to reverse the morale problems infecting the team from Stinnett. McDermott knows how to coach and he knows how to win at this level. This year, he has most of his team from last year, he adds size underneath and adds sharpshooters to spread the floor. A very dangerous combination. Creighton has depth at every position, something they didn't have last year. They also have a year under their belt with McDermott as the coach. At times, especially early in conference play, players seemed lost at times with what McDermott wanted. It led to five, six, seven minute droughts of no scoring. That shouldn't happen this year.

1.- Wichita State I could go either way on this, Wichita State or Creighton, but Wichita State is simply more athletic. Marshall is recruiting athletic, hardworking, good kids, and then he lets them play. While I think Creighton has more depth and Wichita State lost a lot from last year, their derfacto second group of starters from last year is simply taking over from where the graduating players leave. Wichita State loses less than people may think. Wichita State will really miss a few guys like Hatch, he was the heart and soul of the team, he was the guy that got dirty. On paper, Creighton might be the "better" team, but sometimes the eyeball test doesn't lie and I like the tempo Wichita State plays, I like the energy they give and it's just fun basketball to watch. My head might say Creighton, but Wichita State is more fun to watch and my gut gives the nod to the Shockers. Now, if Marshall could keep the guys playing with the same energy they do, but eliminate the stupid turnovers and dumb fouls. Even with the best, and most talented BCS teams, unleashing the payer's talent while trying to limit mistakes has always been the toughest balancing act.

NCAA- Wichita State, Creighton
NIT- EVille, ISU
CBI/CIT- UNI Missouri State

There, now we can talk about sixth place, or we can badmouth my stupid picks, but maybe we can get back on track.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

If we start talking track we may never get settled on who will finish 6th. Or which BcS conference Missouri State will end up in....

The top five teams this season will be, in no order, Indiana State, Evansville, Northern Iowa, Wichita State & Creighton. As usual, protect the home-court and win more than you lose on the road and the title is yours. I can't see anyone in the second five breaking thru.

Missouri State returns more than I think I gave them credit for. Evansville and UNI should challenge for this spot.
