I can't guarantee this is accurate, but one of the posters on Drakenation who I think is a Drake student, said that it was 2 packages of socks they were caught with.

Drake has two exhibition games, so DU could suspend them for one or both exhibitions, call it a 1-2 "game" suspension, and have them both ready for the Iowa St. game. I'll be very disappointed if that happens, but it's possible.

Drake has two exhibition games, so DU could suspend them for one or both exhibitions, call it a 1-2 "game" suspension, and have them both ready for the Iowa St. game. I'll be very disappointed if that happens, but it's possible.

Honestly, to me it would depend on the amount involved. If they really were stealing socks or anything with a value under $100, a three game suspension actually sounds like a little much to me. Yes, it was a remarkably stupid thing to do, but I'm not a throw-the-book-at-the-kids-for-petty-theft sort of a guy.

What was the value of the stuff that O'Rear stole and what was the length of his suspension?

Daniel Ruffin assaulted his girlfriend and only missed a couple of games, returning in time to play in the regular season finale. To me, that seems like a much more severe offense than stealing some socks.
