We have debated this to no end on our (ISUr) message board. I think we are in an interesting position as those schools with football in the MVFC are seperate from all other sports in the MVC. This could technically make it easier for any of our football schools to make a football only jump if the opportunity is there (which I think would be extremely rare, but still possible).

Sorry there are reason why some MVC teams are not playing football, an the rest playing pee wee football. Today realignment is about what teams can bring to the table for each respective conference. There is no MVC team that would bring anything to BCS conference in football and I'm sure they don't want to share their proceeds to bring in a cellar dweller doormat for the league. It will cost them much less just to "buy" a game than bring them into the conference.

No need to apologize, but I am not talking BCS. I am talking FBS so you are a bit off. There are schools in the MVFC that are not that far off from FBS schools in the Sun Belt, MAC, CUSA and MWC. For example, if ISU were to tap into more of its alumni in the Chicagoland area by jumping up to FBS, then that would be something of value to bring to a conference.

Per NCAA regulations you must have an average of 15K attendence every two years to be compliant. If you don't have the stadium capacity to meet that requirement then it needs to be done.

I think you missed the joke.

The point is that all of the schools that talk about being on the verge of moving up aren't anywhere close to being ready.

When some MVC schools have average basketball attendance higher than some MVFC's FB attendence, it says to me that those MVFC schools are dreaming if they think they are being viewed ad potential candidates for the FBS.

Get attendence up first, then talk about moving to FBS.
