That was Chris Roberts:

2009 Booker T. Woodfox (sorry Shock)

:buddies:

Ah, yes, the Woodfox miracle. The man was able to fumble the inbounds pass, recover the ball, dribble twice, and get a shot off all in the space of 1.9 seconds. Proof that prayer can make time stand still.

HA! The real miracle though was that Booker literally made Double G cry, plus spawned a whole closet industry of Zapruder-esqe films by WSU about the "conspiracy."

If you listen carefully, you can still hear certain Shocker fans and coaches whining....

My three fondest St Louis memories are the Booker Woodfox shot, the CU-SIU championship in 2007 (the best crowd atmosphere of any game as the two fanbases constantly chanted back and forth at each other) and the Illinois St. cheerleaders circa 2006.

This shot by Will Franklin over UNI in 2007 kicked off a great bachelor party weekend in St. Louis

I have 2 in mind.

1) The Matt Braeuer last second 3 pointer to beat Creighton, and
2) The last 2 minutes when WSU beat Tennessee to make the Sweet Sixteen.

Surely, you can picture the other side of the fence. Surely, if the shoe was on the other foot, you too would see the reasons behind some of the animosity of that day. You did see the replays, right?

Everybody knows Marshall wears his emotions on his sleeves. A coach in that situation who didn't get mad sure wouldn't have made me feel that great if they were my coach. His reaction made it seem like he cared. Fighting all the way back for a lead, down 20 in the 2nd half, as the No.7 seed over the heavily favored No.2 seed and only to lose on a shot that had time running issues surely is a bit understandable. Don't ya think?

I get that, but look at how McD acted after getting jobbed by a blown call on a half court three pointer that was shown to have occurred after the light/horm had sounded against Iowa State - the team he coached the year before - and you'll see how a coach can show he cared about the game while maintaining composure. I bet Mac wanted that game every bit as much as Marshall wanted his - maybe more. I was happier with the way Mac acted than I would have been if he had thrown a hissy fit.

I think one could argue ending your season on a call like that is worse. The fact that we came back from some huge deficit also amplified it.

Matt B last second three
2011 NIT
Sweet 16

...And favorite non-shocker MVC moment was the only time i have ever cheered for UNI, and i would gladly do it again if the opportunity presented itself. You guys know what I'm talking about. The Jolly Green Giant had Cole Aldrich in all sorts of fits.

Go Shox
Our last five are still collectively better than your starting lineup.

For a single moment, Booker'r shot. It was all over ESPN that night in top plays and Creighton was being discussed all over news and radio as being a possible at large team. Since that didn't play out, the most important moment was probably the win over SIU in the MVC final or TT's shot to beat Florida.

How about Indy St's two overtime victories of Illinois St in 2008/09 season...oh, and this freaking game:

Redonkulously crazy finish to a game that was a 21 point blow out a few minutes into the 2nd half.
