Patterson plays like that all year we will be a tough out. Good win.

20 point over Nevada in Springfield would have been nice. Doing it on the road is really impressive.

It is just 1 game. Maybe Nevada is not as good as thought, maybe Missouri St will be better than thought or perhaps a little of both. Time will tell, but so far that is pretty impressive. Good win Missouri St!

As an MSU fan, I've been most impressed by the consistency of effort, beginning with the first exhibition game through last night's. Bears have been bringing it for most of all the 40 minutes and are as balanced on the offensive end as I can recall in a long, long time. And, the defense is much improved from past years and should keep the team in games in which the offense sputters (if it does). It looks as though this team can go 10 deep for real, and the first 8 are very, very solid.

I agree Paw. But I'd go a little further and say all of our first 10 are very talented. Finding playing time for all of them could be a very real problem.

Last year, Missouri State beat two teams by 22 points or more (Central Arkansas by a billion, and Arkansas-Little Rock). They beat Southern by 18 at their place for the largest road spread.

To do that against a Nevada team with a lot of talent was impressive. There were some flaws in the game, but early indications are that Missouri State will have a lot more weapons this year, and may play faster. Coach will probably have a few growing pains once we get into Valley play, but as they say, if Missouri State is the 6th best team in the Valley, this conference is going to be mighty strong.

I really think now that most of our growing pains will occur in non-conf. Yes, the Valley, like any conference has the I-know-you-you-know-me thing going which allows and makes for closer games than most non-conf contests. But Lusk played at SIU, he's Valley-knowledgable. If you are referring to how he deals with refs, I liked what appeared to be a little tit-for-tat he had with Mr Pollard, the ref that hates MSU,in the Nevada game. Pollard can suck cancerous eggs until he dies as far as I'm concerned. He gave what I perceived as a stare-down with Lusk, but Paul didn't bite. Never have cared for Pollard's calls or his attitude. Already I like how Lusk is willing to take a cause to a ref more than what Zo did.

Not really surprised to see us win like that. We have a great team. Lusk is going to do wonders, he is the real deal. Nevada is very poorly coached. It was like a Mensa member going up against some good old boy from Arkansas.

No it won't. If Patterson plays anything like he did against Nevada during the rest of the year, Rhine won't get on the court much. On top of that, Copeland won't average over 10 minutes a game for the year. I don't know why you guys are clamoring for everyone to play 16-18 minutes instead of settling into a rotation of 7-8 guys with a couple others getting in when people are in foul trouble or to mop up.
