I think that was a perfectly valid argument, Duo. I thought Patterson was more deserving as well.

Too bad I can't see it through my Colt Hate though.

I would like to hear the argument as to why points scored from the free throw line aren't as valuable as points scored from the field.

Something tells me the voters looked at points, board, and assists and then made the call. Maybe that is all they value and if so, more power to them. Just thought CP had the better game

FWIW, I just like to argue. It's fun, especially among you guys. Don't take it personally :D

So CR scored 0.547 P/M and CP scored 0.548. CR had 0.1667 R/M, CP had 0.161 R/M.

Also, the box score on MSU's website has CP shooting 2/6 from the field, for 33%.

Sorry.. I see now the 2/6 was from 3. 7/14 for 50% it is.

Being at the UE-Butler game, Im gonna say I was very impressed with the way Ryan played (admittedly, I'm very biased). He didn't shoot good, he didn't make all of his free throws, he had 4 turnovers. However, he did all that with Nored in his shirt almost the entire game. Last time I checked, Nored and Butler have made a habit of shutting down/holding in check some damn good players. Now, was Ryan more deserving than others, I don't know and honestly, don't care. I tend to think awards like this, they look at pts, rebounds, assists and the fact that it was probably the most "high profile" win of the weekend (not saying best win or toughest opponent). They don't seem to put a ton of thought into the post season awards sometimes, so I can't imagine they spent more than 10 minutes making this decision. Just my 2 cents..........

I want to know why GodOdomGod isn't being discussed...

This award is much much too small time for him and would be, deservedly so, viewed as a slap in the face.

I like Ryan as a player. Would love it if he were a Bear. But 4 - 15 shooting doesn't merit a player of the week award.

I am never amazed about the lack of basketball knowledge by some of our posters.

So what he missed a free throw. He hit 13 others.

So what he was 4-14. He is targeted by double downs, help defense, and his aggressiveness caused him to be fouled and end up at the foul line.

He gets dissed for missing a FT, but not lauded for making the FT that keeps us in the game or the other 13 that won the game.

Geeeeez
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
