I couldn't give a rat's arse when Colt scores his points. He wouldn't start for Creighton and he wouldn't start for WSU, without even getting into the rest of the league (and I consider another 6-12 players better than Ryan).

He's included on these lists because he's the best player on a middling team, and that's all. He's not the worst player in the league, and nobody is questioning his heart or tenacity, but he's simply not one of the 5 best players in the league, and he's likely in the 15-30 range, at best.

And I don't think anyone is impressed with Ryan padding his PPG with meaningless buckets.

If the line is at 25, I'm taking UNC.

At the end of regulation play, Colt Ryan had scored exactly one half of Evansville's points against TCU. Tell me how many of those points were unimportant, and meaningless.

I think Evansville ended up losing, so all of his points were meaningless.

If they end up losing (probably will) in one sense the points are meaningless. But it's always interesting to me to see how our Valley stars perform against the stars of the other conferences particularly the Power conferences.

I'd probably buy him not being one of the 5 best players in the league, but 15-30 range, "at best" seems a little harsh. If you are drafting current players in the league to form a super team, I don't think there are 30 guys you would pick before him.

You're right havoc, and I stand corrected. I would say there are not 30 better players in the conference.

My bad.

I know his points weren't meaningless. The remark was more in line with taking an absolute stance on a silly argument. Colt has a reputation, deserved or not, of inflating his stats in garbage time in losing efforts. That reputation is only part true. Colt does score a lot of garbage points but he also scores throughout the game. I just found it odd that an Evansville fan would attempt to demonstrate how important Colt's scoring is by highlighting the points Colt scored in a particular game that the Aces eventually..........lost. While his points were important, selecting a game in which the Aces lost to demonstrate that position is kind of ironic.

I think any of the MVC teams would love to have Ryan on their team. A 6'5" guard that can shoot like he can - those don't come often.

Some posters are completely clueless when it comes to Colt Ryan. Anyone who watched the Aces game against TCU would have noted that he was, hands down, the best player on the floor that night. He single-handedly kept the Aces in the game all night while being double teamed. TCU tried to switch on every ball screen and deny him the ball everytim down the court. People who do not frequently watch the Aces do not know how much he has elevated his complete game. He is now an above average ball handler, passer, and floor general....he is not just a shooter anymore. Colt is a Top 10 player in the MVC.

Players I want on my team before Colt Ryan in no particular order: Greg Echinique, Doug McDermott, Antoine Young, Joe Ragland, Toure' Murry, Garret Stutz, Carl Hall, Ben Smith, David Kyles, Jake Koch, Jake Odom, Dwayne Lathan, Rayvonte Rice, Ben Simons, Jackie Carmichael, Dyricus Simms-Edwards, Taylor Brown and Mamadou Seck.

Those are the guys I know I'd pick before Colt personally. I haven't seen Evansville play a ton but when I have, I haven't been overly impressed with the guy. Maybe he's better this year, I've yet to see him, but based off of what I've seen and what I know, this is how I'd pick it. There were some others that I may or may not pick ahead of him. I chose not to list them. If I were picking a team of 13, I'd go with

Anoine Young
Rayvonte Rice
Toure' Murry
Doug McDermott
Garrett Stutz

Joe Ragland
Dyricus Simms-Edwards
David Kyles
Taylor Brown
Mamadou Seck
Carl Hall
Greg Echinique
Jackie Carmichael

Tough to narrow down the last few, but that'd be my team.

I just realized this has nothing to do with the thread..... Oh well

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
