Hall didn't even start at the end of the season did he? Tuttle > Hall.

Hall asked to come off the bench as he felt it helped his play. His stats went down, but we won more games. No arguing Tuttles stats vs Hall from last year. My opinion is that Halls stats will be much better this year.

In games against Creighton, Hall outplayed his teammate Stutz significantly.

I like Tuttle a great deal. He needs to get stronger and better defensively, but he is a future star for sure. Certainly more dangerous on the offensive end. Certainly a legit candidate for all conference honors.

Comparing last season's stats head to head probably doesn't give a fair indicator of performance as WSU was a really deep team, which had a direct effect on Hall's minutes and stats. Comparing the number of fouls is even less revealing as UNI's defense is specifically set up to avoid fouling at almost any cost, whereas WSU's defense has always fouled a lot under Marshall (one team likes to play really slow whereas the other likes to play really fast). Hall's never going to be a big time scorer either.

If forced to choose one guy for this season only, I'd probably go with Hall simply because he is much more beefy and a great deal stronger at the moment (he is a really tough match-up physically in the MVC). I am convinced Tuttle is more talented and will get much, much better than Hall ever was as his career advances at UNI however.

I'm guessing at least one Wichita State player will be on a top 10 list at the end of the season. I don't know who right now, because they tend to do things by committee and have a lot of promising (read: unproven) players. Carl Hall is the safest bet, but I also would say that one of the following has a chance:

Malcolm Armstead (PG)
Ehimen Orukpe (C)
Cleanthony Early (SF)
Fred Van Vleet (PG)

Armstead or Early. Orukpe no, Van Fleet could redshirt.

Orukpe won't be one of the top 25 (maybe not top 50) scorers, but I was coming more from the defensive standpoint. I think that with starter minutes, he averages 8 PPG, 8 RPG, 3-4 BPG, and his impact on the glass and form the defensive end might put him on the list.

I watched Van Vleet in practice, and it looked like he would be at least the second option at PG. He was the best passer on the court, and seemed like a perimeter threat. Armstead was better defensively (dude's a thief). I put them on that short list for those abilities. Vleet is least likely, but I doubt he redshirts.

Armstead is a point guard period. Vfleet will not beat him out. Then you have Williams and Cotton. 8 guys to play the 1 or 2. Bet he redshirts.

The day Fred Van Vleet redshirts will be the day monkeys fly out my arse. If he’s healthy, he plays this year. Armstead starts because of D-1 experience. Disclaimer: I have been wrong in the past.

Didn't Orupke lose his minutes to White at the end of last year?

Not really. Still close to his averages. And White's more of a forward than a center. If anything he was taking minutes from Stutz at the very last games of the year.
