I'm not sure that's true? If no one responds I think he feels like hes won his point. Kind of a no win situation.

I have to admit his posts are sometimes so outlandish that I find them pretty funny.

As a Shocker fan I am glad Jay-birds are ranked. Good pub for the league and a target to shoot for. In no way should Jays believe their lofty pre-season beauty contest talk entitles them to anything. No doubt Dougie & Itchie make fly birds tough in the front court. Gibbs may be short on raw talent, but is a gamer. Manigat is serviceable, while Chatman won't make you guys miss Young for very long. Question becomes depth. Is Yates ready for prime time? Josh Jones? Has Dingman progressed enough to be relevant? Does Itchy need to play 40 minutes because there isn't a quality backup?

I don't think anybody responded to his inquiry.

If his posts are outright trolling, the mods should step in. There is a pretty clear anti-trolling policy on this board that the mods have enforced with vigor in the past. Why they have chosen to not do so here is something that I suppose they will need to address.

They were ranked last year at the end of the season and returned as much as anyone nationally. Pretty simple answer to that question.

Yeah, nothing wrong with a team being ranked regardless if they deserve it. I'm just asking the "locals" why the BJ's are ranked beyond the obvious reasons. SHOXMVC has given me some good info as now I know who BJ point guard is.. Chatman. After looking him up he averaged 2.4 pts and 1.9 assts per game as a freshman. Everybody knows that a team is only as good as their point guard, that's why the Shockers have three. Is Chatman your only point guard? Are all your hopes pinned on a seamless transition from Young to Chatman?

It's sad that two Shockers had to educate me on what the BJ is bringing to the table this year.

I watched the video, but it didn't help much. He said that BJ is going to win with defense and veteran leadership. Who is the leader on your team? Wasn't that young? The commentator mentioned that you have a lot of players that "know their roles".. in other words, role players. Where's the firepower going to come from besides the two post players?

How bout this.......

Make a trip up to the big city on March 2nd. Enjoy the sites and I'll buy you a beer...hell, maybe even a couple, watch the Jays get warmed up for St. Louis (although they might be resting some of the regulars for their deep March run) and if you haven't already learned everything you need to know about the Jays, will go over it in person.

Just a quick post from an old timer. RDR, you still have it...loved the Dougie transfer from UNI comment.

Cold, I'm just going to answer the question as if you're actually interested. As some have said they return everyone but Antoine Young from a team that fared pretty well last season and ended up ranked. The difficulty in playing vs Creighton this year will be how to defend them. If you collapse down low on Dougie and GE, you're likely going to get killed from the 3 point shooters that are Josh Jones, Ethan Wragge, Avery Dingman, Jahenns Manigat...if you don't collapse then Doug and GE will have their way underneath. Jays also have a couple guys that can create off the dribble (something they lacked a little aside from Antoine Young from last season) in Andre Yates and Nevin Johnson (redshirt frosh currently injured).

The area of concern for most is defense...it seems to be a given that the Jays will get their points somehow due to the weapons they have inside and out. It's not a given that they'll be able to stop the opposition from doing the same.

BTW, I'm guessing Armstead is going to be a beast this year...played really well for Oregon in the one year my bro coached him up there.
